The biggest negative is the area. At no point did I feel safe as tourists in the area, night or day. The website advertises rooms available for groups of 5/6. Do not book these rooms! A group of 6 of us stayed in the best western for 3 nights. We had booked a room fo 6 people. We were given... More

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights early July. My whole family was staying in the hotel for a family event in San Fran and one relative likes this BW as they normally accommodate their dog and like the roof top pool - two definite pluses! And it is a "funky" hotel, both in the decor and in the... More

Starting off, A best Western Plus is usually a more upscale property compared to your base but this one here is lacking everything a "stock" best western offers, for double the rate. No continental breakfast (I understand that there is a restaurant, but that doesn't change the fact that breakfast is one less option at this PLUS location) they charge... More

I found this place online after searching and searching. And found this one to be suitable for the three of us. After researching the location and area and what was near close by as far as transportation and etc.. And once check then I was quite satisfied it looked just like the pictures as well as it was to be... More

Enjoyed our stay here. Priced reasonably, although having breakfast included would of been a plus. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The rooms were very retro and funky. Kids enjoyed the roof top pool. Even though it wasn't in the heart of San Fran, it was still easy to get to places. A bit "quieter" area, which was nice and felt... More

I choose this hotel because of it's proximity to where I needed to be. It is an older hotel, but clean and updated. There was no air conditioning in the room and it was warm. Windows are sealed so they only open a small amount that does not allow ventilation. I was right by the pool so there was the... More

The location was not good. The room was much smaller than what appeared in the photos. If they are not using the same rooms in the photos then that is false and misleading. The toilet broke. Nothing really appeared as it did in the photos. The price is too high for the part of the city is is located, very... More

No heating or air conditioning. Not an actual BW, they just have the rights to use the name. No fridge or microwave in my room. Had a double queen with living room and there was only 1 tea bag and 1 coffee bag. Extremely dissatisfied.

Stayed at BW Americania Hotel in October 2014. They overbilled me for a credit hold as well as for 2 additional nights. It's now July 2015 and the issue still isn't resolved. Why? Because they give you the runaround and never return calls. I think 8 months is enough patience... If you do stay there, don't give 'em your credit... More

Come here for five days with my partner after staying at the best western in LA a few days before. Hotel very clean but in a poor part of town many homeless nutters walking about. You do stop noticing them after a few days. Nice pool area which is a great place to relax after busy days. We were surprised... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
