They've simply spruced up Motel 6 to look like a three-star hotel. My queen room was tiny, the bathroom "area" is teeninchy, there is no dresser, I had to share a work desk with a TV, the ironing board is literally "a board", all in a less than savory neighborhood surrounded by no decent amenities. Any place where I feel... more

We wound up here because the other conference hotels in the area were booked and were prepared for the worst. In many ways, this motel was a pleasant surprise: The groovy 60s decor is fun, and everything feels clean and new. Staff members were generally helpful. Downsides: The neighborhood isn't great, especially on the walk between the motel and the... more

Really fun, early 60s(?) decor throughout, free jukebox in lobby, and the staff all seem to be both eager to please and to be enjoying their work. Location is OK, close walk to Moscone Center and public transportation, but neighborhood a bit scary after dark. Rooms are all on courtyards, which screens out street noise, but only ventilation is a... more

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and had a great experience. The front desk folks were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and cheerful....no view, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room except to sleep. It was convenient to the convention center....had a nice heated pool.....juke box in lobby playing... more

The hotel was NOISY, although clean and newly renovated with cool modern furnishings. The surrounding neighborhood is VERY SKETCHY, including shootings, crack houses, strip clubs, transients and vacant storefronts. Staff was friendly and helpful, NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILY TRAVEL. more

Not only was this the worst hotel experience I've ever had, it was the worst customer service, too! This hotel has a courtyard setup, which means that drunk people were yelling between balconies ALL NIGHT, EVERY NIGHT. Not to mention small yapping dogs! I stayed here on business and booked through the company travel agent. The stay was supposed to... more

For the price, this is a gem -- half or less than hotels blocks away with free parking and Internet access and a very friendly and responsive staff. The Americania has been remodeled in a funky, mid-century decor with a touch of deco and even a funky onsite hamburger joint called Custom Burger as well as an exercise room and... more

The Best Western Americania did many things well, considering the price. The hotel has a nice lounge, retreat, and lobby. The hotel even had a fully functional restaurant called “Custom Burger”. Don’t let the name fool you, for the money, the meals are outstanding, and if you listen carefully, you might be able to hear Jay-Z on the radio in... more
