This was an ideal stop for us as a young couple visiting San Francisco for the first time. Prices here are often very high but the coventry motor inn was reasonably priced, perfectly nice and a comfortable walk from the main attractions. Be aware you will be a little out of the way and if on Lombard street, you will... More

Thought this motel was excellent at my recent stay in San Francisco. It's close to Fishermans Wharf and other SF attractions. The room décor is a little dated but they were very large rooms and the bed was comfortable. Parking was available underground and was free. There is an ice machine on each level which was handy as we had... More

The location is great, we walked to Fisherman's Wharf, evening walk to close by restaurants, definitely couldn't be faulted for location however the rooms need a make over and the staff at the front desk more training. If its value you are looking for then this is worth going for

Found this property accidentally while walking up the street. We were very unhappy with our current accommodations and we were looking for somewhere else to stay. We were able to see the room before we booked and it was great. Large room with 2 queen beds. There is a couch and small table with chairs. Large enough for our kids... More

The location and the convenience of this hotel can't be beat. We only stayed one night but we were in walking distance to almost everything. Also, the staff, especially, Isabel, was very accommodating. And you can't beat free parking, especially in this area.

i lived in San Francisco near this hotel for 6 years. On a week long trip to a conference, I chose to stay here instead of the touristy conference hotels. Not only did I get one of the best locations in San Francisco, I paid only $128 a night instead of the $300 - $400 at the conference hotels. This... More

Stayed here two nights before moving on to the wine country. Excellent value in the Marina district. Friendly, efficient staff, underground parking, clean rooms, and best of all,the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept in!

very convenient location in san francisco along lombard street, clean rooms, clean bathrooms, therpeutic beds, nice sized rooms ( we got the 2 queen beds), 2 level parking didn't have any problem parking, would highly recommend if you have your own vehicle parking very well lighted so it felt safe, even garage was clean. Dining places nearby.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It took me a while to decide on a hotel in San Fran, I found most of the pictures on the internet made a lot of the motor inns look quite dated and was scared we were going to end up in some old musty room. However, I was really pleased with the Coventry!... More

My wife and I stayed early April 2015 for 3 nights. Very good staff/service. Our room was on 3rd floor with view to internal portion, which was good resulting on no disturbances during the night. Good cleanness, space room, no cigar odor. To improve: bath shower. Very good localization, about a 20-minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf with option to go... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
