Stay here about every two years when going to San Francisco. While its not downtown, it's only about 2.5 miles out. Ask for a room on the Moulton St. side, it will be much quieter than staying on the Lombard street side. The free parking will save you about $40 from staying downtown. More

Stayed for 2 nights in August 2011. We booked with ease on their website, and the special requests we made were met upon arrival. We had a top floor corner room and sitting at the table in the little bay window we were able to see Golden Gate Bridge, and remember that we were in the city by the bay.... More

No bed bucks. only thing: there are not that much parking lots, but I guess that is a general problem in San francisco. By foot you can reach the tourist attracktion at fishermen's warfth in about 20 minutes. More

This is my fave place to stay on the cheap in San Fran. In off season, this sweet little spot on Lombard in the Marina district is just $82/night!! Booked at short notice on short car trip through SF to north coast. Very good rate for SF. We arrived early, about 10.30 am and were allowed to leave our car straight away even though room not yet available and couldn't check in till later. Excellent large room (recommend not facing to Lombard St). Good advice on metro tickets etc.... More
