This was our first motel during our 2wk trip to California. On arrival after a long flight and car drive through SF rush hour I wasn't sure what to expect from the outside ....but we actually had a great 3days! Yes it's a little dated inside and out but most of the motels on Lombard are of a similar style... More

For the money spent you will not be able to find a better hotel than the Coventry Motor Inn. Large clean rooms conveniently located really made for a nice vacation touring San Francisco. We didn't need a car as access to major transportation was just a block away. The friendly and courteous staff were a big help to us out-of-town... More

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Pros: - Clean rooms, comfortable beds, very friendly, welcoming and helpful personnel (front desk as well as the cleaning crew)! - Free parking - Convenient location – between the Golden Gate Bridge and the city center. It is about three blocks from the Marina’s yacht harbor and Bay Trail. Our 15 year old... More

For the value this hotel can't possibly be beat. The lobby is small, just inside the car park. Staff was very friendly. There is a bowl of apples, take out menus and city maps & info. Parking is FREE, so if you come to SF with a car, you will see what a rarity it is. I felt Very safe... More

A good place to be in SF, especially if you have a car, maybe a little bit expensive. Staff is nice, rooms are good, sometimes a little bit noisy but that's the price to pay to sleep in the city. No breakfast, maybe the thing to improve in this place

Great hotel, about a 30 min walk to Fishermans wharf. Large rooms and friendly staff, does not look like a hotel from the outside as the carpark is at the front as you come in but rest assured this hotel is fab! High security doors / you have to scan room key before getting into the elevator room which is... More

We took a weekend trip to the city and the hotels we usually stay at in Union Square were very pricey! I read good reviews on the Coventry so we decided to give it a try. No complaints really. Room was spacious enough for my family of 4, clean, great service, and we enjoyed the area. Lots of shops and... More

Really nice location and reasonable rates. I like that parking was included, and that it's still walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 (about a mile.) I didn't want to drive there, so we walked and then took a cab back for about $10. The room had older furnishings, but was clean and well kept. The only negative was... More

Staying in San Francisco for the first time we needed somewhere fairly central but with parking for a rental car. A friend recommended this hotel and it surpassed our expectations. The decor is a little dated but the rooms and halls were clean and tidy and the bed was big and very comfortable. The bathroom was good with a nice... More

Book directly with motel 6months before 10 day trip and paid £980 sterling which was half the price of some of the larger hotels. Good area 20mins from fishermans wharf on foot, and around 40 to union square. Clean rooms with safe, iron , coffee maker, although we couldn't work out how to use it. Drinks vending machine and ice... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
