For the average family with the average budget this must be the best place to stay in San Francisco. With free parking and a 20 min walk to the bay, 40 min' walk to Pier 39, and 2 min walk to some great restaurants a block away on Chestnut (where the locals eat not the tourists) it is very convenient... Nice clean and spacious room, friendly, helpful staff and free parking in a great location to explore the city with good restaurants within walking distance. We stayed here for three nights and we used the sightseeing hop on and off tour bus which is located just a block down the road and local restaurants. This motel is in a busy... More

I was very pleased with this hotel. My husband and I stayed in this hotel this week during our first visit to SF. I chose it for its location, and if you take the Hop On Hop Off bus tour with Gray Line, there is a stop about 3-4 blocks away. Parking is FREE! This is supposedly unheard of in... More

My partner and I briefly stayed at the Coventry Motor Inn for a night. The location offers free parking and unlike many of the competing motels in the area, there are many parking spots available for guests. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Free Wifi but no free breakfast. The hotel is located on a quiet... More

We stayed here for three nights while exploring the city and had a very nice stay. The hotel was clean and quiet and, while not exactly on Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf, the location was good and only a block away from bus stops to get anywhere you wanted to go. Price was good for San Francisco and for the... More

Reasonable price for expensive San francisco, comfortable bed, big room (we could fit a crib and a rollaway bed in the room), nice shower, free parking, wifi worked fine. Plus the guy in the reception was so nice and helpful. there is no breakfast, but there is plenty of options nearby. we were very happy with our choice.

What more could you want. Good position, rooms clean, free parking, TV. Only downside is the wifi. It's quite hit and miss. Hotel is near chestnut street which is where the trendy restaurants and bars are and of course Apple! No real complaints

Stayed here three nights. Chose this hotel because it had received good reviews and offered us free parking. Room felt spacious and sort of elegant in an understated way. We had requested a quiet back room but were only one room back from the Lombard St corner (my only negative and we did book quite a way in advance). There... More

Great place for the price. Convenient to everything. Excellent staff. Would recommend to everyone. Large rooms, but need more chairs. Make sure you order fridge ahead of time. Noisy on the street side.

My spouse and I spent 3 enjoyable nights at the Coventry. The hotel is located in the marina district, and close to all that San Francisco has to offer. Our room was located on the first floor, at the rear of the hotel, and quiet. The hotel has 2 levels of parking in a garage directly beneath the hotel. The... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
