Great location five minutes walk from Fisherman's Wharf. Staff were excellent. Thank you very much to the man at reception who helped us with further accommodation at Yosemite. Breakfast is in the reception area which is a bit small or you can take it to the third floor into a lovely sun room. We also were able to have free... More

The hotel was clean (but dated) and the staff was incredibly helpful. There was a free breakfast, but it was very minimal. The location is great just a short walk to Ghirardelli, Lombard Street, and the waterfront. The hotel is a great value considering the location and ample free parking.

Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. The staff could have been more knowledgeable about general inquiries such as nearby shopping ,food delivery, etc. For example I was caught off guard with how low the temps would be and i asked if there was a shop nearby where i could buy a sweatshirt and the staff member I asked had no... My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. The decor looks like it hasn't changed since the seventies but everything was clean and worked as expected. We found it quiet and spacious. We didn't have much interaction with the staff but the guy at counter was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was a fairly decent continental offering.

This place surprised us, we loved the location, not far from the front to get amazing views of the Golden Gate Brideg and Alcatraz, the hotel was pleasant and clean, nice polite and helpful staff, breakfast was good and perfect for traveling by bus into the centre and visiting around, the number 30 bus runs a block away from Chestnut/Gough,... We were told by a previous guest to ask for a room in the back (quieter due to noisy busy street)with a full bathroom counter( more space ). It worked out very well for us. The previous guest had trouble with noise and construction/redecorating mess. We found Buena Vista staff very friendly and our room very clean. We used the... More

Firstly ignore any bad reviews on this place. Personally I could not fault this motor in the slightest. I booked this on booking.com, and worked out about £60 per person, per night. I even asked on the booking to have a view of the Golden Gate, which to my surprise, we got one, on the 3rd floor. Believe it was... More

We picked this inn mainly because it's much cheaper than staying at Fisherman Wharf and Union Square, and that there's a HOHO bus stop right in front (Big Bus). As the name clearly states, it's a "motor inn" and not a "hotel" so you get what you paid for. The room is reasonably clean with improvements needed for the bathroom.... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
