Pleasant, clean and very comfortable room in older but well maintained hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Close proximity to good shopping and ready access to Bus, trolley bus and Bart transport systems opening up ample opportunities to explore and experience many parts of San Francisco.

I was delayed on a Flight due to lost Luggage and stayed at the Chancellor for 2 nights. It was Very Nice all in all. The Location cannot be beat. The Bed was extremely comfortable, it was very clean and the Internet worked Flawlessly. It was also very quiet for being on Union Square. I am planning on staying here... More

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff goes beyond the call of duty. The location can't be beat. It's my SF destination hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for friends and family. Union Square is a great place to be.

Stayed here for 4 days in January and thought it was great. Fantastic location, everything at your doorstep, including the trolly car. Rooms are small but very comfortable and clean. Staff were so pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend to others.

Great location in the heart of Downtown San Fran and across the road from Union Square. No matter what you're in San Fran for The Chancellor is right outside the cable car and up the street from the main roads servicing buses. Service and rooms at the hotel were great and I'll definitely stay at The Chancellor when I'm next... More

This is my second visit to The Chancellor and again, it was a fantastic stay - the location, the bar (particularly happy hour), fruit, biscuits and water in the lobby, fantastic reception staff, and great pillows! The rooms are small but perfectly formed, everything is top notch. I love it and if I'm ever in San Francisco again (and I... More

We have stayed at The Chancellor a number of times when visiting San Francisco, and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The location on Union Square (with a fantastic view down onto the Square from our room this time too) can't be beaten. There are great shopping and dining options within easy walking distance, and easy access to public... More

Stayed one night at The Chancellor in January. Staff was over the top, the room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the location was perfect for me. I loved the uniqueness of the hotel and its comfortable environment. Bang for your buck this is an excellent choice!

This is our favorite place in SF. Its clean, updated, and the staff are great, the trolly car is just out the door and so is Union Square. Its a good up hill hike from the BARTso don't bring to many bags
