I liked the hotel, the staff was nice, the room was super spacious and also very clean. Just the room service menu was very small, I couldn't find anything I liked and ended up ordering grilled cheese which turned out to be an extremely expensive piece of bread with melted cheese.

Our first stay at The Scarlet Huntington Hotel, Nob Hill, San Francisco was above our expectations. Upon arrival we found the staff friendly and helpful, check-in went smoothly and everyone in the hotel acknowledged we were celebrating our anniversay. The entire hotel has been recently renovated in a very tasteful manner. The hotel opened in 1924 and many of the... More

This is a charming hotel that is warm and inviting with great rooms. The staff was accommodating and very nice. Highly recommend this jewel of a hotel and I would definitely stay again. They have a nice cocktail area that is warm and inviting with live music. Great touch!

Loved the decor of the hotel, room excellent and large. But no separate shower in the bathroom and the bath/shower was a bit of a pain. Toiletries were nice. No in room WiFi as we were in a blackspot! $9.95 a day also seems a bit much these days. Breakfast we had was nice but expensive. Nice location only a... More

Dear Bancroftus, Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm delighted that you found us to be a 'Nob Hill Fantasy!'. It really does feel like a fantasy here, a world away from the city that lies just steps outside. In regards to your dissatisfaction with the bathroom arrangement: I offer our sincere apologies. Our shower/bath set-up is... More

Dear JenDaveML, Thank you for your 5 star review. I'm pleased to hear that you appreciated the historicity and significant aesthetic of the hotel. Our property was built in 1924 as the Huntington Apartments. We were the first luxury high rise apartment building west of the Mississippi, and throughout the years, we've retained the classic, elegant feel that the building... More

Just finishing up our very enjoyable three night stay at this hotel. Our room was really lovely and massive - big enough for our five year old to have his own private wing! Rooms are well decorated and appointed - there's a coffee machine, large fridge (if you turn left outside the hotel and walk around 5 blocks to a... More

Situated at the top of Nob Hill overlooking this wonderful city, we were give an upgrade to a sumptuous room with the most tasteful of fittings - no expense was spared here and for once unlike our experience in most American rooms, plenty of lights everywhere, including the bathroom. Wifi was complimentary as were the 2 bottles of water placed... More

I stayed here in December 2014 during a conference at the Mosconi Center. While this is not an optimal location for Mosconi, I'm very glad I stayed at the Huntington. It is a great hotel with superb service and location. There are a lot of nice hotels in SF, but the Huntington stands out for me now because of the... More

This hotel has the classic luxury feeling. It seems there were rennovations recently that add elegant and hip touch! The location is good and the staff was awesome. I bring my iPad during my travel. My husband and I spent a week at this hotel and look forward to returning. The trip from the airport (SFO) was swift and staff was extremely welcoming upon our arrival. Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
