Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our West coast tour of America and thoroughly enjoyed our time there . Great location with the cable cars stopping directly outside the hotel. Rooms were modern save for the air conditioning, spacious and well presented. Staff were all very helpful special mention goes to Jason who gave us some excellent... More

I've been staying at the Huntington for years. I love the location, the staff is excellent and The Big Four bar/restaurant is welcoming and fun. I'm just not too sure about the new décor after the remodel of the property. The former Huntington was so charming and historic - what I loved most about it. It is still very clean... More

Most times, my husband and I will stay at a larger hotel (Four Seasons, Ritz, Fairmont, etc) when we travel but we were looking for something charming and more intimate for our 2 night stay in San Francisco. We LOVED the Scarlet Huntington! We were upgraded to a large room on the 10th floor with a terrific view of Grace... More

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel with super-friendly and customer-focused staff. Yes there are a few points that grate (paying for wifi is just not on in a place of this calibre) and a touch saccharine decor in places, but this is a super hotel in a great location. Rooms are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The bar... More

If you like the Fairmont or the Mark Hopkins but want something more intimate this is your place! We experienced the best customer service across the board from the entire staff at the Huntington! And it he customer service started before we even arrived! Prior to our arrival, I left a message with Will Miller, in Guest relations and left... More

Mine is a review by someone who has stayed at this institution for decades. The Scarlet Huntington, the newly renovated iteration of The Huntington Hotel, is indeed different from its predecessor. What was a Nob Hill beacon to tradition and San Francisco elegance is now Scarlet, and a Las Vegas version of itself. It is different and less elegant by... More

Great location, lovely hotel, wonderful service! We had a mix-up in the beginning and received a king size bed for us and our 13yo daughter (I think due to a "child" age difference between the hotel and a third party booking site). They were totally booked that night, but were able to send a very nice roll away and switched... More

We recently stayed at the Scarlet Huntington in San Francisco. Located in Nob Hill, our room had a breathtaking view. The staff were so friendly and kind and the room was first class. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was enticing. The spa was absolutely incredible. I give this hotel 5 stars.

The lobby manager man could have been more like a host than a court judge when asked why kids could not swim in the pool that heavily advertised on the web. This hotel charges 14.95 per night for wifi which is rare for all the hotels we have stayed. There is a smell not sure if someone has smoked in... More

The minute we parked our rental car in front of the hotel after a drive from Napa we were enchanted. The doorman met us with unbounded joy, grabbed our bags and escorted my wife inside while I returned the rental car. Twenty minutes later I walked into a magnificent one bedroom suite with a view of the Bay and the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Designed to spark the imagination and provide an adventure for the senses, the much beloved and newly renovated Huntington Hotel re-emerges in May 2014 from a $15 million renovation as The Scarlet Huntington. The Scarlet Huntington builds upon the property's original charm, graciousness and exceptionally high standards while introducing locals and visitors to a unique and avant-garde style that is influenced by a vibrant Singapore Peranakan heritage woven together with the opulence of San Francisco. More than just a name, The Scarlet possesses a distinguished charm and charismatic aura, likened to a gracious hostess who indulges guests with a luxurious stay experience. Providing a warm ad familiar welcome, the iconic red of the former Huntington Hotel's exterior - as displayed in the brick facade and illuminated sign high atop the hotel - will permeate the new aesthetic, representing the hotel's heritage while embracing the passion and allure defined by The Scarlet; offering uninhibited luxury to every guest. ... more   less
