ThIs hotel was a great stay from the off. We got the Bart from SFO into the City and got off at Montgomery st and found the hotel entrance was just 10m away for the Bart entrance, which was great after a long flight and for those of us carrying lots of luggage. Check in smooth with a great French... More

The space is grand, no doubt. But something is amiss in the service and housekeeping areas. When we checked in to the room, we found hair all over the bathroom floor -- and I mean all over. It was clear it had not been cleaned, which led me to wonder about other things in the room (sheets??) The shutters in... More

When you write a review of such a grand old building, it is hard to be critical. The building is truly beautiful with the dining room, not just marvelous, but a historic sight, worth visiting just as a tourist. The hotel itself is very good, with attentive staff and very roomy rooms. However equally the room felt a touch old... More

Old San Fransisco charm. Visited for a nice weekend getaway. A little chill for August, so bring a sweater. The cable car was fun, city bus easy access, and China Town wonderful. My review is the Plaza is in the heart of a great time. I highly recommend, comfort, quality, and good food.My only complaint is no coffee in the room.

Classic hotel, good central location. Not too pricey. Very comfortable, lovely plush room (suite), nice pool. On the downside - free wifi only in reception and concierge staff a bit scattergun, didn't really listen to what you needed, just pumped out standard recommendations. Didn't get a chance to sample the buffet breakfast unfortunately, but ice cream sundaes were good. Bar... More

We arrived around midnight to check in. Having received an email from the hotel about upgrading, we decided to call and see if we should pay the upgrade free and were told no as there were upgrades available and we qualified for one, so please don't respond to the email. You guessed it. At check in we were told there... More

The Palace Hotel in San Francisco is a throwback to a past era - the building is beautiful and the main atrium dining room is gorgeous. With the glamour and elegance of days gone by, it is a delight having breakfast in this lovely hotel. The room has fabulous high ceilings that made the room seem even larger and beautifully... More

My family had a great stay. I love the location as it is easy to get to from the airport and a quick walk to the waterfront. I got a great weekend rate at less than $200. The only downside was I got a king bed and no changes were available for my family of 4. My only complaint was... More

This was our second stay. This is a wonderful classic hotel. The breakfast is in the area that you see as the picture above with the glass ceiling. We took the continental option that has so much you do not need the hot part. It is worth staying there just to have breakfast in this magnificent place. We were looked... More

Why did it take so long to find this hotel? Sure, it is old but it is not dated. Rather it is a classic hotel in the classic city. My room had a big king bed that allowed me to sink in for a good night's sleep. The foyer was beautiful with its high ceilings. The Pied Piper bar was... More
