My wife and I stayed at the Palace for three nights, having driven up in our rental car from Santa Cruz. I booked the room on Hotwire and got a great deal--a huge room with king bed for 150 dollars a night plus tax. The lobby and first floor of the hotel are remarkably beautiful, and our room was very... more

Booked ahead through American Express travel. Hotel advised me when I arrived that they were oversold -- that a larger than expected number of guests did not leave as expected. Upshot for me was not being able to stay in the hotel I had reserved. Hotel sent me to the nearby St. Regis, which is Starwood's luxury brand but whose... more

The Palace was even more beautitul than the pictures capture and the service was fabulous. We were touring San Fran, and the concierge was so helpful; she was our first stop every morning. Rooms are a little small, but if you go for an interior deluxe room instead of exterior with a view it's a bit roomier (of course you... more

We stayed at the Palace Hotel during the 4th of the July Weekend and it was a very pleasant experience. As most people have said in their reviews, the hotel has a classy elegant feel to it. the lobby is very nice. The garden court is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and have great high ceilings with a big flat... more

This hotel has total old school charm with modern amenities, like flat panel TV & updated washroom. It is walking distance to so many great things, ie. fisherman's wharf, chinatown, little italy, saturday ferry market. No complaints, especially for the price we paid, $120/night. more

My girlfriends and I stayed at the Palace hotel from June 27th to 30th. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. I will say that the hotel looks much more dated that the photos on their websites made it look, but hey, I probably should have expected that given the place is over a hundred years old. Here's... more

We stayed in the Palace Hotel whilst on Honeymoon to California and had a wonderful stay. We were in a Deluxe room and whilst it didn’t stand out as particularly different to what one would expect from a high quality hotel room we had no complaints. There was plenty of room to relax and the bed was fantastically comfortable. Despite... more

We stayed with our 14-year-old daughter in a two-room suite that, thanks to booking well in advance online, was an outstanding bargain (for S.F.). Our room seemed extremely well maintained, high celings, comfortable beds, rather elegant in fact. The amenities are a little expensive (room service, parking, internet). it's a great place to stay with kids or on business. And... more

The interior design is ornate and implies living in a palace, but after coming directly from a Cabo resort, the room was a huge let down. No coffee maker in the room. Coffee was $12 list price from room service, which means over $15 after add-on costs. Room was not very clean. Room was old with wall cracks and ceiling... more

I loved the Palace! It was every bit as elegant and charming as I thought it would be. I stayed here while attending a convention at the Moscone Convention Center. The rate was really good for a downtown San Francisco hotel as nice as the Palace. The Palm Court breakfast buffet was delicious and well presented. Complimentary raspberry lemonade was... more
