If your number one concern is safety and cleanliness, this hotel is fine for you. I'm a single Mom and so safety is important to me. Unlike the outside of the building (charming!), our room had absolutely no personality. Our room didn't look like the photos. They charged me more than my booking stated and gave us 2 beds (I... Dear Guest, thank you for sharing your experience at the Touchstone Hotel. I am sorry that you were not too impressed with your room. What I would like to sort out is the following: you stated to have been charged more than your original booking amount. Please contact us, so we can research your actual booking. While human errors happen,... More

I was in SF for some job interviews a few weeks ago and booked a night in this hotel in a Petite Double room. The lobby was nice. Elevator was a bit old, room was small (hey, it's called a Petite Double for a reason), but overall my stay was very nice. I had all I needed in the room:... More

This a good little place to base yourself at – the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. This only cost us each $11 dollars extra for a twin bed room with a private bathroom and a great discount breakfast at the café next door- awesome apple pancakes! The only prob is the very sheer curtains that don’t block... More

If you are looking for a reasonable hotel in a good location this is a perfect hotel. The rooms are very small so do not go expecting something grand. Our room was very clean and served its purpose! There are plenty of dining options nearby, which was great! The hotel staff was very accomidating. When I booked the room I... More

My plans to stay with a friend in SF for one night didn't work out, so I booked a room here at the last minute. I think I've gotten used to staying in business hotels rather than the hostels I used to stay in ten years ago in college, which is probably a bad thing. The place was clean but... More

I stayed at the Touchstone Hotel recently on a business trip. This was exactly what I was looking for - a clean, decent place to sleep and shower in. Like other reviewers had stated, the rooms may be a little bit on the small side. However, this didn't bother me at all, considering the budget price I was paying. The... More

The hotel is near to Union Square and a short 15 mins walk to Chinatown. Room is clean and comfortable and budget (abt USD90 incl tax) WiFi Ready, no safe in the room, small closet It can be a bit noisy until 2am on Fri/Sat as it is close to the famous Ruby Skye.

This hotel is in a great location, centrally located for using public transportation and walking to most areas of the Union Square and Chinatown areas. There are bus lines and cable car lines very close by. The restaurant attached to the Touchstone is excellent. It has a pastry bar as well as a full line of sandwiches and Jewish deli... More

Simple rooms, for the budget traveler, in a great location minutes from Union Square. Service in general, and especially from Shabaz when we encountered a problem with our airport transfer was superb. They also gave us a larger room so we could have more space as we were traveling with our 4 month old daughter. Great to have diner for... More

The rooms may be on the smaller size and the TV antiquated, but if you're coming to San Francisco to stay in your hotel room and watch TV you are doing it wrong! The room was clean, and had more than plenty of space for two. There were two good-sized closets for our suitcases, a desk, chairs, and more than... More
