This hotel is located just one block from Union Square and is quite reasonably priced. You also get a 20% off coupon to eat at the restaurant next door. The hotel looks lovely inside and the rooms are clean. You even get free shampoo and shower gel, as well as bottles of water in your room. The people at the... More

Our room was very tiny, but we didn't spend much time in it. The space was very clean...and even when we did notice stains on the pillow cases, the staff immediately sent someone up to change them for us. Street noise is definitely a factor, but what else would you expect when you're downtown? We had to sleep with our... More

Easy location to get around San Francisco, it really feels like you are in the heart of the city, just down the road from Union Square and easy to either walk or drive around the city from here. Parking is difficult or expensive so I would ditch the hire car. Rooms are clean and tidy, can be small however price... More

Needed a place to stay before volunteering for the Avon39 Walk to End Breast Cancer. This was one of the the best options for the price in the city without sharing a bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised by the new interiors and the cleanliness. Just a block and a half from Union Square and an easy walk from BART coming... More

Today I arrived at the Touchstone Hotel and was delighted to discover two bottles of warm water waiting for me on the deluxe dresser, ready to be consumed. As if this was not enough to satisfy me already, the management had also taken the liberty to provide an outstanding empty black box on the bedside table. But wait, there's more!... More

This trip was the second time I visited San francisco. The hotel is very close to union square and there are some great restaurants close by. The adjoining David's bar for breakfast was very good but the rest rooms were absolutely filthy!!! The room seemed, on first inspection, to be clean and the beds were very comfortable. However the sleep... More

Touchstone is very central to downtown SF. Rooms are basic and there is no AC but they are clean and beds are comfy. Shabbaz at reception did an awesome job in making us welcome and was very helpful with trip advice. Previous reviews commented on the number of homeless people in the area but it is no different from a... More

Like other reviews, I can say I agree with the dorm-like feel - but putting it another way, it's similar to places I've stayed in London and Amsterdam. Space is well-used, the furniture is simple but attractive, and there isn't any scary landscape art. Check-in took more time than a SupermegaHilton, but a SmH would have cost me three times... More

I wish there were an option to rate this hotel "good" rather than very good but it met my needs for a basic hotel in a convenient location. This hotel "lobby" was very small with a tiny sitting area. Ice is only available when adjoining restaurant is open which is annoying. Staff were all friendly and helpful and are available... More

San Francisco is unreasonably expensive. We chose this hotel after a long research and we did not totally satisfied but we had to be content with it...It is very difficult findind a good hotel. They are all very old. Touchstone as well. Take a look at the bathroom or at the walls....Anyway I suggest it if you stay a few... More
