We really enjoyed our stay at this very charming hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was quite comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. It's a small establishment, which comes with its pluses (such as charm and character), and (at least from some people's point of view) minuses, such as lack of parking right on the premises.... The Marriott, it is not. And true, it is a little noisy in the city, and there is no one at the desk to attend to your every need. So why stay here?? Well, by day two of our 3 day stay, all the staff knew us. We enjoyed some great conversations with the other guests - something you never... More

Stayed here for the second half of our honeymoon trip. It's super charming and the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Great location - close to Union Square but not too close. Quick walk to cable car pick up and bus routes too. The old style elevator was really neat! Our room was very very tiny. We just had the... More

My wife and I recently stayed at Petite Auberge in San Francisco. It's wonderful! Close to streetcar lines, an easy walk downhill to the Ferry Building, Chinatown, etc. Best of all is the atmosphere: warm, cozy, good rooms, good food and the best 5 o'clock wine and hors d'erves going. We came back each day at 5 to join other... More

I agree with pieces of many of the reviews here. The hotel does have more charm than the big chains nearby, is in a good location, and has a tasty breakfast and coffee service. It is true that for front desk service on one of the days, we had to head next door to its sister property (the front desk... More

This hotel was chosen really due to it's reviews on here and fact that it was listed as a boutique hotel. Arrived here from San Jose around midday so as we were unable to check in we headed out to San Fran. The girl on reception was helpful without being impressive and the car we had was dealt with by... Spent two nights in January at this hotel. We have stayed at other JDV hotels in the past and found them to be outstanding. We were both very dissapointed with this place. It is in an old building, we heard every single noise possible there is no soundproofing at all. All of the furniture needs to be replaced or updated.... More

Like an English B&B, not a hotel. Must register in one building, then let yourself in with key in next building. Hallways completely unheated in 30 degree weather. On the bright side, staff is pleasant and it is clean. We were totally mis-led by the ratings on TripAdvisor. At best a '2'.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your stay at Petite Auberge. The hotel is a bed and breakfast style inn, not a full-service hotel which is partly why it did not meet your expectations. I am sorry you were not alerted to this prior to your stay. We will have our maintenance team check the heater to ensure other... More

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Petite Auberge. It was so much nicer than staying in the big chain, over priced and impersonal hotels in San Francisco. We stayed on the lower level nearest to the breakfast area in a Queen room with fireplace and we loved it because it was nice and quiet. The breakfasts were... More

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend and were very happy with our stay. We checked in and somehow were upgraded to a corner room. It had plenty of space and a nice fireplace. It did get noisy at night, but didn't keep us up after we closed the windows. You can obviously find better breakfasts in SF,... More
