Fantastic hotel, more like a bed and breakfast. Very comfortable bed, gas fireplace in the room. Nice breakfasts, wine and appetizers in the late afternoon. Bit of a hike up a steep hill, but worth it

We had just returned form a month long mission in SE Asia, in time for Thanksgiving with our daughter and son-in -law. While we were looking forward to the hotel we were not prepared for the wonderful amenities, the great breakfast and especially the staff. We will return!

Love the fireplace in the room, could do my Yoga in the morning in front f it. ! Room was clean. The free breakfast in the little cafe was delightful and better than what I would have expected for a "Petite Auberge", very European. Also like the closeness to Union Square and more opportunity for affordable parking.

We have been staying here for years. Excellent location, lovely staff, reasonable rates, historic building, good breakfast and extras like water, coffee, tea available 24/7. We miss the French Country décor, which was changed to French Moroccan. We do appreciate the new flat screen televisions! Will continue to stay here in the future and recommend it to friends.

Very comfortable room, very convenient location, staff helpful and friendly. We were in a king suite and enjoyed the extra space. We found the breakfast to be quite good--eggs, croissants, oatmeal, fruit, etc., and plenty of it. Afternoon wine and appetizers quite good as well. Everything seems to be "home made"--amazing strawberry shortcake served our last afternoon there, couldn't resist!... More

The Petite Auberge was a quaint facility reflecting what it would have been like to stay in San Fran many years ago. The facility has maintained its heritage (I loved the old style elevator ). The staff was terrific, the evening social was a great way to wind down from the day or to get you ready for the evening.... More

My wife and I have stayed in the city numerous times over the years. We found this hotel to be a hidden gem with for a great bed and breakfast get away. It is central to many areas in the city. The service was some of the best we have ever experienced. We will be back!

We booked the Petite Auberge for its location in the heart of San-Francisco. The location is really good and we felt safe (some areas in downtown S-F are really shabby). We had booked the base room but got upgraded (I think) to a bigger room with a fireplace and more space. That was very nice from the hotel. Breakfast wasn't... More

LOCATION: This hotel is in the Nob Hill area. My impression is that this area gets a little bit shady at the bottom, and very premium and residential at the top of the hills. The street where the hotel is situated was perfect: it was central enough (not necessary to climb the whole hill), with a good choice of bars... More

The location of this property is very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Be sure to request the staff list of restaurant favorites. We found the list to be very reliable. The only shortcoming is that the room we had (the Petite Junior Suite) was is major need of refurbishment.
