Decent hotel for the price. Rooms are small and haven't been updated for a while. Wouldn't recommend for business travelers. However, the breakfast is excellent and the staff very friendly. Location is good but wasn't ideal for my purposes.

This hotel was an unexpected gem. Everything was nicely decorated, there was pleasant service, good breakfast in the morning. Good location as well. The bed was a little too soft and wobbly. The windows were recently updated and provided good sound isolation.

We stayed here one night on a layover and loved it. I found it very homely and the staff were super polite and helpful. We booked through a third party website (and prepaid) there were no hassles with our booking. This is an older building and feels what I Imagine a french villa would be like. Anyone expecting polished marble... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. From the friendly welcome, to the valet parking services, to the evening complimentary wine reception and the lovely breakfast, to the comfy/cosy room. The only negative I can mention is the noise level at night definitely reminds you that you are in the middle of a vibrant city. The room was equipped with... More

This is a nice little personable BB, not a major hotel chain. It's away from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was great every morning, LOTS of extra thought went in to making your stay special and personable. Due bite you are staying in the city so there IS noise at night, ️day etc. San Fran is a wonderful city and... More

Excellent in all respects, other than three minor suggestions. 1. allergic to feather duvet cover. We should have asked for a non feather one 2. traffic and night club noise - not much the hotel can do about this 3. I wish that breakfast would be ready sooner than 8 on the weekend

The style is charming and comfortable, though almost all surfaces are worn and/or dirty. Housekeeping was excellent, especially given the challenges. The breakfast and evening refreshments provided a welcome break from rushed city life. This hotel has rooms when others don't at convention time, which is why I stayed here. I welcomed the break from sightseeing/conventioneering. I enjoyed the fireplace... More

We were happy to discover this charming and romantic little place. The price was terrific, the amenities perfect (outstanding breakfast, snacks, drinks), and the room cozy (request a fireplace). The location can not be beat for reaching the hot spots of the city, and the front staff are very helpful in recommending how to best see everything in San Fransisco!

We had such a wonderful time at the Petite Auberge. The staff was so helpful and took care of our every need. The breakfasts are wonderful and the water is extra hot and try to get the fireplace room. The beds and pillows exceptionally comfortable. A bit noisy from the street noise - but it is expected in the city.
