The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and relaxing. The fireplace was PERFECT! Breakfast was good, and I also enjoyed the late afternoon social hour. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

I stayed here for 5 days on business. After long days of work, it was like coming home. Fireplaces, wine & cheese, and welcoming staff & guests awaited me each day when I returned. My room was clean & comfortable and I brought as many people over as I could to show it off. I just loved it here. The... More

We were enchanted with the charm of this darling place. Everyone was helpful and there were so many pluses compared to other hotels we have stayed in here in SF. Next time we would like to have one of the downstairs rooms with fireplace and larger bed. The rooms here were larger but still cozy.

We only stayed one night, but our overall experience was excellent! The room was small, but it is an older hotel so I wasn't expecting anything different. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a free breakfast and in the late afternoon wine and food were served in the downstairs common area. The location is near... More

As long as you don't mind trading slightly smaller rooms and somewhat squeaky floors for a great location, great price and exceptional staff, this is the place for you. Would definitely recommend it to others.

We stayed at this hotel in Nov, 2014, after seeing some good reviews about in TA, and I wasn't disappointed the least. The hotel is in a very good locality in SFO, with most of the attractions not far off and good connectivity by public transport. Hotel and Room: The hotel is a quaint little boutique hotel. Nicely done up.The... More

Stayed for 2 nights, selected for its convenient location (a few blocks from Union square), decent price, and because I get tired of the chains--even the very nice ones. The staff were uniformly very friendly and helpful. The room was quite small but comfortable and clean. Complementary cookies at 1:00, happy hour at 5, and buffet breakfast each morning (plus a... More

Room: quaint French-inspired décor, spacious (for a big city) and a nice homely feel. There was a bath in the bathroom. The one criticism of the hotel is the bed – we had an old-fashioned spring bed, which is uncomfortable for couples, and it was a double-sized (when everywhere else in America seems to provide king-sized beds). The hotel communal... More

Nice, clean and is nostalgic! Great service and very friendly, helpful. I would return to Petite Auberge. We were here 10 years ago and decided to check it out again, very nostalgic. Breakfast was included and in a great location.

This was our first trip to San Fran and we decided to stay for six nights and really see the city. I picked the Petite Auberge after reading many reviews and considering prices. I thought it was an excellent value for an expensive city. There had been a deal offered that gave us one free night after staying four nights.... More
