I was here for two nights in February (business). What a wonderful property! Great service at the front desk, a very nice room (impeccable wireless) ... a great stay at a great hotel. If you're looking for a nice property right in the heart of San Francisco, you'd be hard pressed i think to find something nicer!

Overall it was a good experience. I stayed for a week on business and it was more than adequate for my needs, with a good desk, free WiFi and a bunch of chargers built in. I'd recommend for business use but would have been a little disappointed if i had visited as a tourist. My room was actually a good... More

My girlfriend and I booked a room here for Valentine's Day night. After a long day of hiking in North Bay, the big draw of Hotel Griffon was its solid reputation for customer service and food. Rather than going out in SF where it would definitely be hectic, we just wanted to stay in to watch movies and order room... More

The best location for me because it's near the Ferry Building. Lovely service although the rooms are on the smaller side. The elevators are a bit slow. Coffee/tea service in the lobby for the morning jolt and water and fruit in the evening. Free wifi. Walls were a bit thin too. But, the location can't be beat especially since it's... More

I typically don't go for the boutique hotels however I ended up here during a recent trip to San Fran. I have to say the room was small (not much room outside of the bed) the bathroom was small as well. However the room was cozy and the staff was friendly. Perry's adjacent to the lobby is a nice place... More

We were here for events associated with the JP Morgan conference. Thought the location was great - Embarcadero is definitely a neat spot, is very handy to the Financial area and is full of great restaurants. The Boulevard is a must and is just 3 doors down from the Griffon. The griffon rooms are certainly small but I thought were... More

I had to visit San Francisco on business and due to a healthcare conference, many of my company's usual/preferred hotels were booked. That being said, our travel agent found me a room at Hotel Griffon. It is nicely located right on the Embarcadero, near plenty of restaurants and lovely markets. They don't have a gym on site but they do... More

Stayed 5 nights here and really enjoyed it, although our room for the first night was not the best. nearly all of the rooms are "inside" without a view and ours looked on to a wall 6 foot away. My wife was slightly claustrophobic so had an unpleasant night. However the following day the hotel staff arranged a new room,... More

This hotel is not only in a great location, but also has great service! The front desk was extremely helpful, accommodating, and knowledgable. Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
