The place is beautiful inside and out..The weekday breakfasts are nice - continental but not just a pastry and some coffee. They provide cream cheese, excellent jams, yogurt, and granola. There is free wi-fi, but it may not reach all rooms.

I stayed here for three nights in September and forgot to write a review. I stayed in the Jack London Room with shared bath and then the Enrico Caruso Room with a splendid private bath. Since I love Victorian houses, my stay in this one was magic! I loved every minute of my time in the house, including breakfast and... More

The place is beautiful inside and out.We stayed in the Jack London room on the 3rd floor - long climb, but worth it. Nonetheless, we're likely to to stay in a second floor room the next time - the stairs to the 3rd floor are steep! The weekday breakfasts are nice - continental but not just a pastry and some... We stayed in two different rooms during our stay. This mansion is very much in the original, or close to, from its historical past. Beautiful atmosphere and decor. The Inn keeper (Meredith) and Inn Manager (Nicholas) were fantastic. The breakfast was awesome. Later in the afternoon wine and cheese are available. Delicious and a great presentation. One of the quest... More

If you like a quirkier place to stay this is your place! Perfect antidote to a week in Vegas for our honeymoon. Quiet street, but close to hop on/off bus for sightseeing and walkable to Haight Ashbury. Wine and cheese reception too was very delicious and super helpful staff 😍😍😍

For folks who love history, this is a great place to stay. We stayed in the Mark Twain room on the top of 3 floors. The room was huge and lots of fun to be in. The whole house was full of period furniture and decor, and the hosts were helpful without intruding. We enjoyed staying here and exploring a... More

Loved it! Beautiful residence and antique furniture, wonderful staff, lovely guests. They have a really nice nightly reception with wine and cheese. It's reasonably priced. One caution - there's no dedicated parking which is a big pain in SF. (If you go anywhere after dinner and lose your spot, you have to use a garage a few blocks down.)

Almost hate to let the cat out of the bag and tell people how wonderful this little bed and breakfast is. What a score! It is elegant, well decorated, superb service, really great location just a block from the painted ladies, filled with charm, history and character. Don't think I'll ever stay at another hotel when I'm in San Francisco.... More

Had a wonderful stay in September at the Chateau Tivoli B & B. Relaxing, friendly, knowledgable and great staff! Free cheese and wine every evening. Great sightseeing and shopping in walking distance. Would love to go back!

We stayed here for three nights as part of our honeymoon. It was exactly what we were looking for in that it was quirky and different and so far from a soulless hotel. The room was very comfortable with a Fab Four poster bed. The champagne breakfast and daily cheese and wine made for such relaxing experiences. We will recommend... More
