From the moment I entered the front door until the moment I left, I was extremely happy I had chosen this place to stay. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about San Francisco and the area. On weekends there is a 'champagne breakfast' served. Parking can be a challenge. But you can get into town very easily on bus... More

As a frequent visitor to SF, my preferred place to stay is always the Fairmont or Scarlet Huntington. This time, with the holidays and all, we decided to try the B&B experience that everyone seems to be raving about. After an utterly forgettable Parker Guest House, we decided to try Chateau Tivoli Bed & Breakfast. When I arrived at Tivoli,... More

Dear Ray C., Thank you for your review. We appreciate your positive words about Janet, our innkeeper, and about the Mark Twain Suite. We are concerned about the other aspects of your stay. I’d like to address those concerns individually: Regarding our weekend breakfast: I apologize for any confusion about our weekend breakfast. On weekends we offer a hot breakfast... More

staying at Chateau Tivoli, this place is comfy, great location, wine n cheese every night, easy to hang around and relax. Heads up, there is no parking. You should plan on parking a couple blocks away at a parking garage. The weekend breakfast is fun, complented with champagne. We stayed in the Mark Twain room. You can sit at a... More

We stayed in Fishermans Wharf when we visited 5 years ago and wanted to stay somewhere less touristy. We arrived and were kindly upgraded to the Mark Twain suite as it was our anniversary...the room has huge! No TV but that was quite nice and a lovely living room area. The hotel is charming and characterful, eerily quiet at times... More

We stayed for 4 night, 2 of them were in the Joaquin Miller room with the shared bathroom and 2 in Enrique Caruso with a private bathroom. If you are going to book a shared bathroom room, I suggest booking the one we stayed in, the other one (I think called Jack London) is right next to the toilet, so... More

My friend and I recently spent 5 nights here on our U.S. trip. We chose the 2 bedroom apartment in the basement and loved it. Staying here was like going back in time, living in the grandeur and luxury of yesteryear was wonderful. Of course with the home being hundreds of years old, there were floorboards creeking and some noises... More

We stayed here for 7 nights Oct/Nov 2015. Meredith and Nicholas were excellent staff who did all they could to assist us with restaurant, travel and other tourist stuff. They were both a credit to the residence. Unfortunately, and we fully appreciate this is an old house, the street noise from traffic, rowdy neighbours having a party and inconsiderate sidewalk... Loved the chateau tivoli. Recently visited San Francisco with "the girls". Stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast. Loved the evening wine and cheese and the breakfast's were just what we needed to get going. The staff were awesome in helping out these clueless Canadian's..lol. Nicholas, Meredith and Janet were so helpful in their suggestions for nearby restaurants and attractions.... More

Loved our stay at this fabulous inn! The building is so charming and room very comfortable (it turns out I like having a turret :). Staff is amazing and friendly, have to give a special shout out to Nicolas who warmly greeted us and provided the best quiches I have ever had along with wonderful local recommendations.

Had a very enjoyable stay. Great location within walking distance to parks and restaurants. Didn't bother with car rental as parking in SF is such a pain. Just "Ubered" it when we needed a ride. Meredith, the Innkeeper was so gracious and helpful! Really enjoyed Happy Hour wine and cheese. Loved the Luisa Tetrazinni Suite with period furniture and four... More
