It is difficult to explain our stay in Chateau Tivoli without overusing words such as "magical", "quirky" or "character". I had no idea this was a B&B when I booked our suite, and still do not know that it should be labelled as such -I feel the word takes away from its true character. Our stay felt more like a... More

I love history, interesting architecture and antiques so staying here was an absolute delight. The house itself is like a museum that I was surprised that they would even let people sleep there. I felt like I should have to pay for a tour. We were lucky in that we were staying during the week in the Joaquin Miller room... More

Great place really, can warmly recommend this to anyone. We were living in the Jack London room and shared the genuinely decorated bathroom which was no problems what so ever. They have a tasty breakfast and we were lucky to stay over the weekend which meant champagne brunch as well. Incredibly friendly people that are running it.

This was quite a unique experience staying in an old Victorian house. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities you'd expect to find at a hotel. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. The afternoon wine and cheese event and the brunch were tasty. The chateau is located in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance to Divisadero... More

The Chateau Tivoli is an amazing historic Victorian Pink Lady. Before booking your stay read up on the history of this Victorian B&B to truly appreciate where you are staying! I booked our last night before flying back to Minnesota (and it's snow storms-yes, we had snow April 11 while it was 80 degrees in San Francisco!) in San Francisco... More

One of the best locations I've ever seen in my life. Magical atmosphere of a time gone, staff friendly and welcoming, breakfast delicious and plentiful, elegant rooms that retain the style of the past century, in short, a place where the echoing notes of the most beautiful opera, I'd say a good place for those who love culture and the... My wife were fortunate enough to get the last room available at the Tivoli for a weekend stay while seeing the world's greatest band, Camper Van Beethoven. This B&B is a huge and wonderful old house with historic furnishings and beautiful appointments throughout. The house is an old building, so street noise was audible but that was the only drawback.... More

I stayed in the Mark Twain Suite that is amazing. Huge bedroom with additional huge room with a game table in the turret peak of the classic SF Victorian. Room is clean with antique furnishings. Champagne and Quiche Sunday breakfast, French toast Saturday, and Continental plus other days. Wine and cheese daily 4-6pm. The staff was super helpful and competent.... More

We were in SF for a concert. We choose the Chateau Tivoli B&B because it was only a few blocks from the venue of the concert. We drove, so we needed a parking spot. We immediately found a spot on the street near the B&B. This B&B is a beautiful Victorian house decorated accordingly. We stayed in the Aimee Crocker... More

Romantic and full of charme. The staff was very helpful and polite. The room was very quiet and decorated with an antique style that contributed to make the B&B a special place. Very good price for san francisco, if you take a room with a very clean external bathroom.
