A friend and I stayed in Chateau Tivoli over New Year and we loved it. In fact, if I ever come back to SF I would always stay there. What a place! Very kooky with lots of peacock paraphernalia, grand staircases and antiques dotted about the place. Every room is different and Meredith and co offer a hospitality second to... More

My mother and I stayed three nights in the Lola Montez suite which is in the basment of the house. It has two bedrooms, one of which has the only bathroom en suite. While this was not a problem for us, it may be for friends travelling together. However, we found the rooms comfy and warm and the added addition... More

Recently stayed here for a couple nights while traveling to see family. What a wonderful surprise. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the unique history of this historic home. The rooms are lovely and each one has an individual decor. Staying over the weekend I enjoyed a sit down champagne brunch with a home cooked meal that was... More

we booked into the Lilly Langtry suite which is the basement economy suite with 2 rooms sharing 1 bathroom. We originally booked for 7 nights but we checked out after 1 night as we were very disappointed by the rooms and the local area. We booked because the reviews on trip advisor were all excellent, however once we were shown... More

This was an exceptional B&B and should be classed as a Hotel as that is what it is. It really has to be experienced to be believed - we absolutely loved it. The theatrical nature of the Victorian decor was of the highest quality and not in the least bit kitsch. The service the Innkeeper, Meredith provided was outstanding, a... More

This B&B represented superb value; knowledgeable host; terrific room; great ambience and a top location. We had a great time there. I can't think of a critical remark that affected our stay. However, beware: there are shared bathrooms (which in our cosseted 21st century lifestyle, can be a drag); and light sleepers might dislike the traffic noise. However, the traffic... More

Wonderful, over the top Victorian decor...... yet homely and comfortable. Staff were welcoming (after a long tiring flight) and extremely helpful and friendly. Sunday Brunch was fabulous, other breakfasts a bit plainer but still a good start to the day. Our bedroom had a 4 poster bed, Victorian bathroom splendour with very modern and effective plumbing - though no television... More

The Tivoli has all the quirks and charms you'd expect staying in such an old building, fabulous decor and fantastic service - the champagne brunch on a Saturday is yummy! If the mattress in the Isadora had been better I would have given it 5/5 for definite! Really helpful With information about everything - great cheese and wine served daily... More

Staff is absolutelly amazingly friendly. We felt at home in the second we came in this B&B. Accommodation is more than great. Building and rooms are old but clean and nicely victorian. Parking was easy and free on the street. Area was safe but quite far from the Warf and Center. (we used taxi about 15$ and walked; approx.1hr walk... More

I stayed 5 nights in September 2011 and the stay was fully to my expectations. Wonderful rooms, great beds, kind and helpful staff. Location is great near Alamo Square and just takes 10 minutes with the bus to go downtown. I would have been even happier if breakfast but of course I knew that before I went. More
