The inn keepers were exceptionally sweet and welcoming. One of our guests was gluten free and they did a wonderful job accommodating this restriction with varieties throughout their breakfasts and snacks. The neighborhood was safe and had a great mix of food and high end shopping. We rented a car and it was easy to find nearby parking and the... More

We were in SF to visi t our daughter and the Inn was very close by. Our room was spotless and very quaint. The inn keepers were very helpful with anything we needed. We would recommend it to anyone who wanted to be in that area of San Francisco.

I felt very lucky to have found this wonderful small inn right around the corner from my son's apartment. The staff take much care to make you comfortable and welcome. Rain kept me from enjoying the lovely garden, but there is always a next time. The common room was lovely, and tea and coffee are available at any time. In... More

My mom came to the city to visit me from St. Louis. I decided to have her stay close to me at the Union Street Inn. The staff was so friendly and made her comfortable. The owner even made us a fresh cake for when we returned after a long night of sight seeing It was so YUMMY! My mom... More

This was our second time staying at the inn visiting our adult children in San Francisco who live in the Marina District. The Inn is conveniently located for that area, but very easy to get to all the usual attractions in this great city. Recommend you sign up for Uber, if you have not already. Uber cars are all around,... More

What a find! Great location, delightful neighborhood and the bus/streetcar stops just up the street. We found the 'home' to be very Victorian, welcoming, clean, pleasant, and the staff the most friendly. Front room on the lower level was a little noiser that the one above it (we had to move in the middle of our stay due to a... More

This little gem is an old Edwardian style villa of 6 antique filled rooms . It is in a wonderful location amongst beautiful shops and excellent cafes. Breakfast which is included and served in the parlour is excellent with juice, freshly prepared fruit bowl and each day a different cooked option. I had a spectacular waffle with banana, bacon and... Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
