On bus route, near Japantown. Overall good stay. Breakfast served somewhat later than I am used to: 8 AM. Nice room, en suite Bath with a jet tub. Union St shopping outside inn door. Trendy neighborhood.

Stayed 3 nights. Arrived after 7:30pm, but had access code to main door. Key waiting in envelope inside. Like going back in time. The place if full of antiques and nicnacs, but cosy. Lovely garden with patio. Comfy room and bed. Struggled a bit with adjusting water temperature in shower, but not major. Homemade cakes, cookies offered, also cheese and... More

I was visiting friends 4 blocks away which is why I chose this inn. Stayed on 1st floor in Garden Room which might be a bit cramped for two, albeit clean and very comfortable. If you have more than two suitcases it will be difficult to unpack and tuck them away so you can move around-maybe they could store one... More

Our stay at Union Street Inn was fantastic from start to finish. Kit was so welcoming and is a fantastic cook! They took care of our every need. A great location and charming rooms. I'm returning in a month! This will be our home away from home any time we return to the city.

My husband and I stayed here because it is within walking distance to Fort Mason where we had a couples workshop to attend. The staff was kind and accommodating. We stayed in the English Garden Room and it was so quiet! We never heard a thing. We enjoyed wine and cheese both evenings in the charming English garden and enjoyed... More

We've been visiting here a couple of times a year for many years, but hadn't been back in San Francisco in a few years until last month. We were delighted to find the same warming hospitality, unique charm, and great friendly, professionals who make The Inn a special place ! A great neighborhood, with plenty of local restaurants, shopping, and fun... More

You won't be disappointed at the Union St. Inn! We spent 6 nights here and loved every minute of our stay! Our first encounter with the staff was a 45 minute phone call with Kit the InnKeeper when we were deciding where to stay in the city. Kit was full of great tips to make our trip enjoyable! We were... Located right in the middle of Union street; drinks, dining, and something always right around the corner. Overall, I rate this with 5 stars as the hosts knowledge and taste for the city were great. The overall atmosphere was quite pleasant with breakfast, wine and enjoyable guests. My only put off was the bathroom - clean and plenty of space.... More

Brilliant location in a neighbourhood of cafes, restaurants and small shops. Owner operated with long term dedicated staff. 6 rooms only and rustic very well cared for garden where breakfast is served on fine days. Breakfast is lovely. We spent two weeks in California and started our trip here for two nights. This is a lovely bed and breakfast in a great area. The room was charming, bed really comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very helpful and overall this was one of our favourite places during out trip.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
