Booked the Union Street Inn "Carriage House" based on several recs from friends.. Arrived not knowing what to expect, but found one of the most delightful gems in San Fransisco. My wife and I were overwhelmed with the unmatched beauty of the room and private garden. The staff were welcoming and undoubtedly some of the most wonderful individuals I have... more

The Inn is amazingly beautiful, charming, and comfortable. Jane and David were extremely welcoming and I felt more like I was staying with old friends than at an Inn. The breakfast Jane cooked was exquisite. In the early evening they had wine and a cheese platter to nibble on in the main room. My room was big, bright and extremely... more

We stayed 2 nights in the Holly Room in May 2009. We were rather frazzled when we arrived from our travels but Jane turned that around for us quickly! She warmly and cheerfully greeted us, helped us park the car and helped carry baggage up to our room. The Holly Room overlooks the beautiful garden in the back of the... more

Union street is an excellent location - convenient for public transport , a good selection of restaurants and interesting boutiques. We stayed for 7 nights in the carriage house with it's own private garden and found it quiet and peaceful, it also had a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and varied and there were always drinks and cookies/cake available... more

This is the perfect B&B in San Francisco, and frankly, in any city or town. The house is light with a beautiful English garden. The rooms are large, well-decorated, with very comfortable beds. The B&B manager, Jane, is the most discriminating hostess I have ever encountered at a B&B. She cares for your needs, is charming, and allows you your... more

We spent a week at this fabulous place in september 2008 and felt actually better than home ! The hosts were very helpful and would always do everything to be nice towards you. The rooms are perfectly decorated and the ones (we tried two different rooms) with garden view are so relaxing. The breakfast in the garden was perfect yet... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were wonderful and Jane and Kit were wonderfully gracious (and fun) hosts. The garden is lovely--breakfast in the garden was the... more

I relish any opportunity to stay at the Union Street Inn. The garden is beautiful, a wonderful respite. The breakfasts are fantastic, the rooms extremely comfortable and lovely, especially the English Garden Room. Great location with lots of dining and shopping options nearby. Best of all is the hospitality of Jane, David and Kit. A thouroughly pleasurable experience every time! more

Want to feel what it's like to live in one of San Francisco's lively neighborhoods? Stay a few days at the Union Street Inn. Walk to shopping, restaurants, the Marina or hop a quick bus to North Beach or Chinatown. The innkeepers and staff are wonderfully helpful, the rooms are neat and quaint, and the garden is an oasis to... more

The Union Street Inn is a special gem with touches of English classiness. The host and hostess were gracious, helpful and friendly. Our room had special touches that made us feel "at home".
