This is the second time that we have stayed at The Willows Bed & Breakfast Inn our first time in 2013 & now 2015. The room that we stayed in was at the front of the inn, clean and really comfortable. The shared bathroom facilities were clean and tidy, breakfast was really good with a nice selection of fruits, cereal,... More

I've stayed at the willows at least 6 times in the last 20 years. It was alway a good time to remember. The big plus at Willows is the friendly staff, great Location and the "feeling Home". The interieur of Willows is quite unique. Lots of Victorian furniture, nice vintage photos on the walls... and lots of willows furniture. Normaly i... More

I had my second visit in a year to Willows B&B. The staff is friendly and helpful, it's clean, it's perfectly located, steps from the streetcars on Market Street and it's in close proximity to Castro district experiences. They provide a simple, healthy mix of food for breakfast. I always enjoy the conversations around the breakfast table.

As my daughter lives in the Castro, we wanted to stay in the area during our stay in the city. So we chose the Willows Inn. Good choice, I have to say. We were received very friendly, our room with two beds was conveniently sized and adequately equipped (but only had a rather small window on an alley, where there... More

I live in San Francisco and when I had my apartment painted last week, I decided to stay at the Willows Inn for four days. I’m so glad I made that decision! My stay was lovely because my room was so comfortable and there was a real attention to detail, to make sure my time at the inn would be... More

The Willows Inn offers nice rooms, service and amenities at a reasonable price. Although there were occasionally homeless people loitering near the front door, the Inn is in a great location for both walking and public transportation. Breakfast options were fresh, healthy and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I had a great experience staying at the Willows. I was traveling alone and took a small room (#35) on the 2nd floor. It was a perfect size for me and was right across from the WCs and showers. The room was very comfortable, clean and well thought out in terms of amenities. Although I would have preferred a more... More

The Willows is a friendly, clean and homely B&B. From the outside it looks small, but looks can be deceiving as inside this is a large two storey dwelling. Staff are friendly and on hand should you require anything. Bathroom facilities are shared, but this was never a problem for us, so you shouldn't worry about this. Continental Breakfast was... More

We traveled to San Fran for a long weekend and stayed in the Castro so we could be in the middle of everything but not pay the expensive rates. Our stay was amazing. The Inn was super clean and the guys were so friendly, and the breakfast was the best I've ever had for a self-serve. They had so many... More

Staying in The Castro

Neighborhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theaters and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
