The hotel lives up to its photos - every nook and cranny is filled with furnishings clearly chosen with care and flair from antique markets; I doubt there is an antique left in the city. Our afternoon concierge, John, was incredibly helpful, the hotel is situated on a bus route, and it is easy to get anywhere from here. Our... More

Currently staying here, checking out tomorrow and what a great place to stay. The front desk folks are so nice and accommodating, I can't say enough about them. Wonderful neighborhood, peaceful and quiet, yet walking distance to fabulous restaurants and shops. The Queen Anne is just beautiful and I will definitely be returning. Sherry and cookies are awesome too!!

When you tire of all the faceless, modern, high rise, concrete and clay, multi-chain hotels, take a look at this lovely piece of Victoriana on the quiet side of Van Ness Avenue. The personal touches are greatly appreciated and you can spend an hour just wandering the public rooms admiring the artwork and décor. The complimentary sherry and home-made cookies... More

My husband and I stayed here for the first time recently. What a lovely place!! We love staying in unique, non chain places so this was perfect. Beautiful Victorian decor throughout the building and in the rooms, generous continental breakfast, helpful concierge, and complimentary sherry and cookies in the afternoon! Can't go wrong. Very pleasant and kind staff. Plus, this... More

Lovely olde worlde charm and service gentle and accommodating. The reading rooms are something to behold, all very cosy and comfortable. Our suite was spacious (two bedrooms, two bathrooms), with a large courtyard. One drawback for the less mobile is that it is over two floors. Bathrooms clean, but be prepared to wait for water to warm up. You have... More

Dear Gentle Genevieve, Thank you for your stay. I do hope that you discovered our spacious and charming elevator! It appears from your photo that you stayed in our 'apartment-like' Two Bedroom Suite which does occupy two floors. Please note that we have the ability to assign you to a two bedroom suite that all contained on one floor... so... More

Our recent visit was a great one. I specifically chose the Queen Anne because of its history (and all of the sites and tv specials on Mary Lake). We didnt have any encounters - but we did enjoy the ghost tour given by an outside individual. The staff was incredibly nice and helped move us to room 410 for the... More

I keep coming back to this hotel because it's centrally located and a great price. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. Each one of the rooms carries through the victorian decor.... Very ornate but it fits the surroundings. The breakfast is expanded continental breakfast.... With lots of variety and fresh fruit. The real steel is the... More

The Queen Anne is a lovely hotel with wonderful character. I love the lobby! Several fireplaces, alcoves, nooks, Victorian period furniture. I happily nestled in one of the couches with my book after a day of sightseeing, sipping tea and munching on the complimentary cookies. Although in a quiet neighborhood, the location is convenient to downtown by public transportation and... More

My adult children and I vacationed in San Francisco in January, 2014. I selected this hotel for three reasons: safety, location, and price. I wasn't disappointed. The area feels safe. It's nice they close the hotel at 11pm and you have to ring a bell for access. The atmosphere is very homey. My daughter commented it was the only hotel... More

We are very honoured to receive your review RuthAnn... Even though every detail was not perfect you still felt we should have 5 stars/circles! That means a lot to us. Thank you. New pillows are routinely coming in so we'll check on that and the beds too. The mattresses are new but the 'antique' head boards in some rooms might... More

What a great place to celebrate Christmas! Not far from Union Square we found this genuine place that matches a good Christmas. As far away from your ordinary American motell as possible. Extra plus for complimentary sherry and cookies every afternoon.
