The Nob Hill Inn is a fine old establishment. It was built in 1907. Some of the rooms are small but the place has charm. One should try to book one of the larger rooms in the front. Now the front is a bit noisy but, you're in the city. The staff at the inn are the most professional, helpful,... More

This is the first time I have written a review on TA, but we have just returned from our 'trip of a lifetime' touring the West Coast USA and National Parks, and want to help anyone else out who is looking to do the same. After a very long day of travelling from the UK, to turn up at the... More

A good location in Nob Hill. Junior suite was ok for a family with 2 kids. The atmosphere is very peaceful thought the traffic noise is really bad. The sofabed was not very comfortable and it was noisy. The five o'clock tea was available for customers. Basic and simple breakfast is available for extra cost.

Our airport shuttle dropped us at another hotel with a similar name, so be sure to give the correct address. Once we arrived, we were very happy with the comfortable suite provided, with bedroom, separate lounge, kitchen, and huge well-equipped bathroom, 2 flat-screens etc. The furniture is all period and fits the overall décor, historical and quaint. The location is... More

We stayed for 6 nights mid June 2014. We grabbed a taxi from the airport (it was a share cab system but ended up being a van for the two of us) it took about 20mins and coat a mere $17 each. The weather in San Fran this time of year was great, not too hot, not too windy, and... More

We stayed three nights in this hotel. first appearances were a beautiful old hotel furnished in 1920s period furniture. it had a lift and had free wifi and between 4 and 6 pm, complimentary sherry, cakes or tea and coffee. Once in room 5, the delight of the period furnishing faded fast. the bed was set side on to the... More

Our stay at Nob Hill Inn was not very comfortable because of the lack of air conditioning. We stayed in a very well maintained and decorated room, just at the corner of the building. but the room was very hot by the end of the day, and we decided to sleep with the windows open. Bad decision. During the night... More

The building is gorgeous and full of character, and the location is excellent. People with a car, be forewarned - parking in the area (the hotel does not have parking) will set you back $30-$40 a night. We stayed in two different rooms - the first one (which was one of the less expensive ones) was quite tight with the... More

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with great value, you need look no further than The Nob Hill Inn. Located in the Financial District, this undiscovered gem offers two-bedroom suites that are spacious and comfortable and even include a separate living room and a pullman kitchen---larger than the one in my first NYC apartment. From the marble... More

After we booked our stay we read some unflattering reviews which worried us. We needn't have as we found The Nob Hill Inn to be a welcome surprise. It is a Victorian house located in a perfect spot for exploring San Francisco. Members of the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea in the... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
