As travel agents we are always keen to find a good deal but we're also very fussy when it comes to deciding where to stay. After a lot of research we booked in here and are thrilled with our choice. The location of the hotel is fantastic, just steps away from Union Square. For a 3 and a half star... More

This is a personality hotel!!! Great location, friendly staff and complimentary sherry, it doesn't get any better. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, we had the best sleeps. The Farallon restaurant is next door and the hop on hop off bus stops right in front of the hotel. The cable car also stops within a half... More

I booked rooms for my family for a wedding that was later cancelled. I booked at 3 different hotels. all reservations had more than one room under one reservation number. The other hotels cancelled the entire reservation. This hotel cancelled one one and charged me for two. All cancellation notices read the same. This hotel absolutely refuses to honor the... More

This hotel has a supreme location - right in the heart of the city so if it's location you're after - this is prime position. We stayed with our two kids (aged 3 & 5) in a room with two double beds. It was way too small for us & it's not at all a recommendation if you want any... More

The hotel is very good and central, the stuff friendly. No restaurant in the hotel, but many places to have a meal nearby. Price is ok for San Francisco. Special thanks to Velichka at the front desk for friendliness and helpful tips. I would recommend the hotel for both business and private trips

I have stayed here many times over the years. Location is great, being at Union Square with shops and restaurants. It is next to Faralon restaurant which decor is "under the sea" amazing. There is a small theater on the other side. Easy to enjoy a show, dinner, shopping. I love that they offer sherry and music every afternoon.

I stayed here at the Kensington Park for a few nights last year while in San Francisco with my boyfriend & had a really good stay. I deliberately chose an older style building and something with a bit of character & Kensington Park didn't disappoint- the reception area was very impressive & the sherry & music are a nice touch.... My stay at the Kensington Hotel in San Fran would have been ok, if it wasn't for the terrible service at the front desk.Several hash ups were made with my booking: first, they tried to overcharge me several hundred dollars, then they tried to tell me I hadn't booked two of a certain kind of room (and then had to... I liked the hotel very much, every day there is sherry and live music. The location is also great, just 20 meters away from Union Square. The service is also great at the hotel. The down side is that the rooms are a bit small, and there is no breakfast, not even a small one in the morning.

The hotel itself is nice and cozy. The problem is that staff at the front desk are not very truthful. I was with wedding party that booked rooms months in advance and was told there would be a discount given to the party of the wedding of about 15%. The day after the wedding during checkout, the person at the... More
