The hotel is a bit different of what we are used to stay: furnishing old fashioned, no fridge, microwave or air condicioning, the room was a bit small and dark, there were stairs to get to the rooms but still we liked to stay there. The location was great, we walked to Fisherman's Wharf every day, Chinatown is just two... More

Hotel Boheme had lots of character dating back to the beat generation, lots of cool photographs around the hotel of Ginsberg, Kerouac etc. Rooms were dark but very comfortable. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was a bonus as you didn't hear any street noise, view was rubbish but you only sleep in the room... More

I reserved a room for three nights. A few minutes later, I received a very polite email from the hotel staff apologizing for the fact that the internet site had allowed the room to be double booked for one night, and saying that the other reservation was received first. In follow-up emails, the hotel staff responded quickly and accommodated my... More

Threadbare notted rough sheets with terribly uncomfortable spring mattress.....no water, ice or coffee available for room. Superficial clean, but noticed so much dirt behind bed while plugging in the fan. Desk men were very, very polite and helpful with dinner suggestions. Good location. Would not stay there again. Wonderful location with lot's of ambiance. Friendly and helpful staff. (Hey Stan, we love you!) The real reason I wanted to stay at Boheme was the interesting history of the hotel dating from the beat generation of the 50s. There are large framed museum quality authentic photograph prints throughout the hotel by the famous SF photographer Jerry Stoll. The photos... More

A charming hotel situated in the Italian district, well located for exploring San Francisco. Rooms are sufficient without being luxurious and staff are friendly and helpful. Only downside would be having to carry heavy bags up the stairs to our room (no lift), but would recommend Hotel Boheme and go back there when in SF again.

We stayed here for two nights in July and it was a joy, very different to the big modern hotel chains, very easy to find and the staff were just so kind and helpful, the rooms are small and clean but very quirky, especially if staying facing the street as if you wake early you can hear the whole community... First of all, this hotel is like staying in a living beat writers museum. It's got a great central location in North Beach, and you feel like you are genuinely a part of the beat scene while staying there. The room was decent- the mattress was acceptable, but not much more than that. The bathroom was tiny but did the... More

The Boheme is a place you stay when your primary concern is location (and this location is wonderful). North Beach has a European vibe--sidewalk cafes, lively bars, colorful characters on the street, literary history. Exploring the neighborhood is a destination in and of itself, and you are also within walking distance of Chinatown and fisherman's Wharf. You can spend all... More

The Hotel Boheme is located right in the heart of North Beach, SF. It is a small, boutique hotel with only an entrance that is viewable from the street. The doorway is located between an italian restaurant and an italian cafe. Once inside the door, you climb a spiral staircase which leads to the lobby of the 15 room hotel.... More
