We just had a good time in Adelaide Hostel, San Francisco, where we stayed 4 nights. The Hostel is well located, near Union Square, the Market subway station and the cable car lines. We had a private double room, which was clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They accepted to keep our luggages on the last... More

We had a really nice stay at adelaide. The staff is very welcoming and they help you with anything you need. Great leisure rooms and kitchens, funky wallpaper and bed curtains. Freee breakfast which is awesome (lots of choice, can refill. ..) 35 $ a bed, which are the prices in san fran. Nice place to come back to after... More

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very accommodating whenever I needed assistance, and the beds were some of the best of any hostel I've stayed in. I liked that each bed has an outlet, light, curtain, and mirror. It made the space feel like mine. I also thought the location was fantastic. Also it seems the... More

I stayed at the Adelaide hostel for four nights in a six bed female dorm room number 9 (bed no 1). The hostel is in a central location, with short walking distance to union station and the heart of SF. However, is particularly close to the tenderloin area, so expect to see many homeless. The hostel is an old charming... More

Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry about the issue with the room, it must have been due to a miscommunication. It’s likely that the arriving guest was actually assigned a different bed in the room and put her things on the wrong bed - this sometimes happens in the dorm rooms. We would have given her a key... With 5 friends we decided to visit San Francisco and did not really know where to stay. Our previous stop was in Los Angeles, and we had a bad surprise, but that's another story. We arrived at the airport and we called the shuttle saying we were going to Adelaide hostel (you have a discount BUT make sure to say... More

Had to stay a night in San Fran to wait on a flight. I was going to go to another hostel but they were full, and recommended this place. THANK GOD! : ) The decor in the hostel is very cosy, many couches to prop up one's feet and read or whatever. Great mix of visitors. Staff was very friendly... More

Thanks so much for your review! We’re glad you had a great time at the Adelaide and that you were able to get a room at the last minute. We do try to offer a unique decor, friendly and helpful staff, and the best free breakfast in San Francisco! It’s true that the food is not organic but it is... More

Professional management, friendly & hardworking staff and a great mix of travelers from all over the world. I had two extended stays, made lasting friends and now it's my home away from home. Looking forward to returning...soon!

We booked a private room online on their website thinking we'd be staying at the Adelaide. How wrong we were, they shift people to their sister hotel Dakota Hotel. Look it up it's very shabby and completely different. The room smelt like stinky feet. This isn't like a one off thing either, they had print outs prepared that told you... More

We’re sorry you weren’t pleased with the Dakota building. Many people actually enjoy staying there because of the ensuite bathrooms and the fact that it offers more privacy and is perhaps a more laid-back location. We have recently renovated the living room and common areas as we take reviews like yours to heart and do want to make sure that... More
