This really feels more like a european hotel. The staff was very helpful and warm, the lobby and bar area were lovely, and the focus of the room was on quality rather than flashiness. The location is very convenient for shopping on Union Square. The front desk recommended a very close restaurant, Cesario's, which served excellent italian food. We can't... More

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon in May. We arrived at about 10pm and received the best and by far the nicest welcome of our trip and our room was upgraded. In the room there was also a card, a bottle of wine, chocolates and print offs detailing romantic places to eat. The room wasn't really decorated to... More

Great hotel, the location is perfect and the Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lovely ambience. There is no breakfast served but they offer coffeetablebok/tea in the morning. There is a fitnessclub close by where you can work out for 15 $ day. Would definitivt stay here again!

There is nothing like the lobby ("living room") of the Rex, right off Sutter a block from Union Square, the cable car, and the theaters, warmly lit and furnished with bookshelves and fauvist portraits, not to mention a compact bar. The staff bends over backwards to make you comfortable. The room rates fluctuate depending on the season, but this place... More

Spent a 4 day weekend here and really enjoyed the style and comfort of the hotel. The location is within easy walking distance of many of the things that you'd want to see plus the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very nice art deco feel to it and when we were there they even had one... More

I gave this a very good rating which is a stretch but it was the staff, location, and comfortable bed that made me rate it better than average. I originally choose this hotel because all the other places within a couple of block vicinity were more expensive and I liked that I was staying at a more local style place... More

The hotel is decent but completely overpriced for what you get. I was in a room towards the back with no AC and barely any sunlight because apparently I got the last batch of (terrible) rooms. Although it wasn't hot, the room was very stuffy so I was advised to crack the window open for air and that I could... More

This place is nice...but $500 a night nice? My room did not have air conditioning or heat. Although a nice furry blanket was provided. The free drink at happy hour was nice, but everyone does that anymore. Not too differentiating if you ask me

well located in downtown SF, very convenient to get to and also to go around town for work and business. Was my first time in SF and had a good time there. There is a nice bar next door called Cantina where me and colleagues had some drinks after dinner so it was perfect.

I stayed at the Hotel Rex for 4 nights in early Nov 2014. The location was pretty perfect for my early morning run down to Ferry Building to catch the sunrise over the Bay Bridge, plus a quick grab at ACME Bakery so I could get a Pain d' Chocolat. I paid the price for this croissant on the run... More
