The Rex hotel is a cute little boutique hotel. It has a lift and is a very tall building. The location is spot of for Union Square and all the shopping you need. (Ugg is literally down the street). I wouldnt opt for the breakfast as on the corner is a 24 hour diner that will suit your needs and... More

This was one of the approved hotels for my wife's business. It was a great location. Very close to the cable car. Walking distance to Belden alley. Reminded us of Paris with the small European style hotel. The Library Bar was downstairs and coffee danishes croissants and fruit were available at breakfast. There was wine daily complimentary from 5 to... More

Well located for all San Fransisco has to offer and with friendly and helpful front desk staff (Jeff and Nick). For a mid priced hotel we would have at least expected to have had coffee making facilities in our room. However this was not the case. Coffee was only available during early morning in the lobby area. The bed was... More

Spent 5 days at this hotel and was extremely pleased with my stay. This building is one of the oldest buildings in San Francisco. The rooms are nicely decorated in Art Deco style, my room was clean, spacious, I had a room with two double beds. Staff is awesome, friendly, they like what they are doing. This hotel has movie... Stayed here for the San Francisco Marathon weekend and was very happy with my choice. Within walking distance of bars, Union Square and BART it made for a very easy trip in and out. I would definitely stay here again

I chose this hotel over others because if its location close to Powell St. We had a 3 day muni pass and we rode the cable cars from the hotel each day, buses too. We were in room 708 - not much of a view but that was no big deal. I asked to be put on the top floor.... More

we just returned from two nights and it was so fun. Every floor, every turn was artsy this hotel is joie de vivre. The staff was so helpful with helping us return the our rental car, to get our room early, to storing our luggage on our check out day to accommodate our red eye flight home, to suggesting we... Good hotel with friendly staff! The hotel is close to Union Square, Market Street, and Chinatown. All are just few blocks. If you want Fishermans Warf you can ride the streetcar that runs along Market Street. The hotel is a good solid place to stay when visiting San Francisco!

A very comfortable stay for a week at this hotel. It's very central located. The staff was very friendly and had lots of tips to make the stay comfortable. I would recommend it. Will return . Orion was helpful in helping us at all times, the check in with Gitanryali was so smooth and Jeff is very friendly.

I stayed at the Hotel Rex one night while waiting for a flight home. Built in 1907 after the great earthquake of 1906, it is apparently one of the oldest hotels around. Sort of a Bohemian Paris. It is a boutique style hotel so if you are looking for a glitzy large chain hotel, this is not for you. The... More
