Good location, one of the few places with free parking and wifi.Rooms clean, no air conditions or hair dryers. Coffee pots and fridg. in room. Good transportation and excellent restaurants nearby. Rooms very much 50,s motel style, but clean with fresh paint.aflat screen tv. Recommend

I stayed here with my partner and enjoyed our stay. Although decor is a little dated it is cleaned well daily and has comfortable beds. The staff were very helpful when we had questions and always available when we needed them. It felt safe with the gated card access security but the area is pretty safe compared to other parts... Security guard was a total idiot. Great location close to the Castro, but way overpriced during pride week. $300 , per night? Come on! Room was not the cleanest either, but at least i wasn't robbed or killed

I must say, I am surprised by your review. Never have our rates reach $300 per night or even come close - not even during Pride. I am also surprised by your comment about our security. They are here to make certain our guests are safe and feel comfortable at all times. My apologies if you had an unpleasant experience... More

Combine location with free parking and walking distance from Castro Street attractions and it's easy to over look the tired decor and the iffy elevator. Cost is a bargin for a weekend in San Franciso and the room was clean and comfortable.

Thank you for staying with us! Our elevator is original, from 1958, so it does have it's moments. We are working on replacing it which turns out is a very big project. Thank you for your patience and we hope to see you again! Brittney Beck More

Yes, this is a motel style property, with barely any services, but for the price I paid (around $115) for a superior room that was spacious, clean, not that dated, and had a flat-screen TV, there is no match in a city as expensive as San Francisco. There's also free parking, good wi-fi, and my room was cleaned very efficiently.... More

My sister-in-law and I stayed at Beck's primarily because it was near the CPMC Davies campus, where my brother was hospitalized, and because it was relatively inexpensive for San Francisco. She described Beck's as "straight out of the '50s," which could have been bad news. My first surprise was the man dressed only in a thong strolling ahead of us... More

Just got back from 3 weeks business trip in San Francisco. While I was there, I stayed in this hotel. It was more than I expected. Very friendly and helpful staff, room was clean and spacious (got cleaned every day, towels/sheets replaced). I had one single problem with appliances and they fixed it in few hours. So, I am recommending... More

Have stayed here many times. Free parking. Great neighborhood (Castro/Upper Market). F Street Car line stop is right there (unfortnately you hear the noise from the historic street cars in most rooms). Friendly staff. Odd gas wall heaters. You can walk everywhere. Not is the traditional touristy areas. A classic motel. Recommended for the budget minded single person.

A friend suggested Becks when I asked for a hotel in the Castro area. A few other friends said "No!" but after looking at the reviews and location we decided to make a reservation. I flew in but my travel companion drove up from San Diego. Having free parking was amazing, we actually never drove the car any of the... More

Staying in The Castro

Neighborhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theaters and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
