My wife and I added Bear Trails on to our Alaskan itinerary, when a vacancy suddenly opened just before our trip. My wife is a wildlife and nature photographer interested in photographing the Coastal Grizzly Bear, and I am an avid fly fisherman for the many species that inhabit the Alaskan rivers. Bear Trails offers both, with the opportunity to... More

This lodge is probably the finest fishing lodge you will ever visit. The individual cabins are roomy, well equipped and most offer a great view of river and countryside. The food is as good as the finest restaurant offerings and the staff go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. I first stayed at Bear Trail in 2007 and... More

Alaska Sportsman's Lodges are a great venue for an upscale experience for individuals, couples or corporate events. In July we had a great time fishing the end of Kinds and Reds and ample bear viewing opportunities. Nancy and her crew offer a one of a kind experience.

3 days of awesome fishing! They have outstanding guides, accommodations, gear and top notch food. Fish several species of fish either spinning, fly fishing or both! Nanci and Heath are the best hosts ever and their staff reflects the values they have. Great stewards of our beautiful state!!

Look no further for the perfect Bristol Bay lodge. The Alaska Sportsman Bear Trail Lodge is what all other lodges should strive to be! The entire experience from the reservation process to sadly returning to the airport for departure was exceptional!! Nanci and Heath have developed an incredible team of employees that make this lodge head and shoulders above any... More

My expectations for my stay were exceeded with warm hospitality in a beautiful Alaskan setting. All meals are included in the price are served home-style three times a day. My room was spotless and had a very comfortable bed. My special requests were met with a smile, not reluctance. If only I had more energy at the end of each... More

I've been traveling to the Naknek/King Salmon area of thirty years and I had no idea that this place existed till this year. It's honestly the best place there is in the region; the lodge is very comfortable and the food is fantastic. The price seemed high to me until I considered that all meals are included and they serve... More

This place is magic! The food is truly top notch. The cottages are completely comfortable and have everything you really need. Now, the real attraction. The fishing. The guides and the fishing are absolutely first rate. You are at the jumping off point for some of the most wonderful fishing for salmon, rainbow trout, char and dolly varden. The trips... More

This was our third trip to bear trail lodge. The best ever! We limited on king salmon and were joyous! Our guide was superb! We got fish every day! The food at the lodge is amazing. The lunch on the river or on a fly out always included soup plus homemade cookies! Wine and beer were always available. A special... More

The Bear Trail Lodge exceeded my expectations. I was visiting King Salmon for the first time on a business trip and we were lodged here. I stayed in a cabin near the main lodge. It had a living room, kitchenette, deck, bathroom, bedroom (with 2 twin beds) and a loft with 2 twin beds. The cabin was very clean and... More
