Hi, Myself and my 15 year old son had a great time on our trip to Katmai Lodge. We stayed for four days of fishing and it seemed like we caught more fish everyday. The fish we caught were mostly silver salmon between 8 and 15lbs. Our Guide was great and the time fishing was very interesting. We saw bears... More

This is prime fishing in the lap of luxury. Lots of action - kings, reds, rainbows and more. The lodge guides know the river and tailor a good fishing experience to the interests and abilities of the guests. Gourmet breakfasts and dinners are topped only by fresh grilled salmon for lunch on the river. Charter with Alaska Central Express out... More

This was my 1st trip to Alaska but I can't imagine anyplace better. The staff treated us like family and made every effort to insure that our trip exceeded expectations. Our food was exceptional and the lodging clean and comfortable. During our trip we found that other lodges were flying to the Alagnak (our river) for the best fishing. If... More

If you are looking for the fishing trip of your lifetime, the Katmai lodge is your obvious choice. The friendly caring attitude of the staff is genuine and not just a transparent marketing ploy. Guests are made to feel like they are part of the family. Every aspect of my recent trip to the Katmai Lodge exceeded my expectations by... More

I just returned from Katmai, and was fortunate to be there the last week of season. The silver fishing was outstanding, our guide Tom had us in the Silvers all week. This was my first experience fishing silver's on a fly line, and have to say its over the top fun ,exciting, and challenging. The scenery is truly amazing , with... More

Privileged to fish on several continents, and having been a fisherman all my long life, I have found the best fishing at Katmai Lodge, and the best accomodations and staff support ever. I have returned to Katmai for about 20 consecutive years to date, and intend to continue to go there every year for the salmon, trout, Greyling and Dolly... More

The fishing was wonderful; however, the overall experience of seeing Alaska through Katmai Lodge was more than the fishing experience. We were a group of 6 and every one of us had a blast. The interactions with staff ( incl. guides), guests, and surroundings made this trip into a lifetime of memories.

My second trip to Katmai and it is even better than last year. Keeping its fishing camp exterior the cusine has gone to five star. Its hard to believe you are in the wilderness with a kitchen like this The staff and especially the guides are dedicated to keeping it a pristine enviroment where even the novice feels like a... This was my second trip to one of the most comfortable lodges I've stayed at in Alaska. Everything is included. The Alagnak is great and we caught salmon (pink, chum, and silver) almost nonstop. My 14 yo son went with me and had a blast - the fly swinging was very productive and not hard to learn, even for a... More

I traveled to Katmai with my dad several times as a teenager in the 90s, and I haven't been back in years. I decided to head back up with my 10-yr-old during the run of Chums, Pinks, and Silvers ...and it was a fabulous experience! My daughter had never fly fished before, and she was catching fish on a fly... More
