Not sure of the point of reference from the reviewer below mine.....maybe she had a really bad day...... Just checked out of our room. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and would never dream of staying anywhere but here again. We've stayed at other places more expensive in the area and been highly disappointed. This is hands-down the cleanest, most "homey"... More

Thank you for your wonderful review of the Bluenose. It is great to hear that you are already looking forward to coming back. It sounds like you appreciated all of the small touches our beautiful offers and that you spent your time well in Bar Harbor. Thank you for mentioning our terrific pianist, Bill Trowell who plays every night of... More

Room was superb. Amazing view. Clean accommodations. Cookies were a nice, welcoming touch. Pool was fantastic. Hot tub very soothing. Steam room worked for us. No problem. Piano player was nice. All of the staff that we encountered were extremely pleasant. With the exception of front desk. They seemed to be rushed and not interested in offering up too much... More

Thank you for your "wonderful" review. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. I am sorry, however, that you had some problems at the front desk. I will look in to the information you were given regarding breakfast. We have many different "packages" that are offered, some with and some without breakfast vouchers so... More

The pros: The view was quite nice; the pool and hot tub were lovely, as was the steam room when it was working (the second time we tried it, it was not); the free wi-fi worked well; the cookies were a great touch; we got a very nice, hand-written welcome note from the manager; the bed was comfortable; the food... Hello, and thank you for taking the time to write a review for the Bluenose. I too am disappointed that you were so let down by your experience here. As you know, most of our guests have quite a different experience. One thought that I have is that you might have been happier in one of our suites in the... More

Nice resort that is near downtown Bar Harbor but far enough away for peace and quiet. Our room had a beautiful view of the water. We watched the Queen Mary II come into port. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The view from the restaurant was gorgeous. We had a wonderful time at Bluenose Inn.

Thank you for this lovely review of the Bluenose and the Looking Glass restaurant. I am very pleased to hear that you had such a wonderful time. We love our location and describe it just as you have as a "get away right next to town and Acadia National Park". I do hope that you will be back to stay... More

This hotel was set up on a hillside overlooking the water so the vista from our huge rooms was beautiful. Rooms themselves were very comfortable and the staff were helpfully, efficient and friendly but we were shocked to find there was nowhere in the hotel where you could sit and read or enjoy your sundowners as the main lounge was... Thank you for writing a review for the Bluenose Inn. I had a conference scheduled on October 17th in Bar Harbor; this is also my 4th wedding anniversary so my husband came along and we spent the weekend in this beautiful area. We have visited Bar Harb many times and usually stay at a competing high end hotel but because of the MDI marathon happending this weekend it was booked... More

Always a lovely stay at the Bluenose. The staff is courteous and helpful; the rooms are immaculate. Set on a hill, the views of the mountains are breathtaking should you choose to stay in a an outside room--pricier than expected given the type of hotel this is-- facing them in the main house. Don't pass by the tray of warm... More

My husband and I just visited this hotel for our 30th anniversary and it was well worth it! The views and hotel were beautiful and brought you back in time with all the Victorian touches but with all the amenities. Thank you for your lovely review of our hotel, the Bluenose Inn. It sounds as though you had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our restaurant The Looking Glass. We stayed at the Bluenose Inn after a lot of traveling and a bad experience at another hotel. Thankfully we happened upon this hotel. The staff was awesome. The view (partial) was beautiful! From the time we arrived, walked in to the lobby, and heard the calming, classical (live) piano playing--We were greeted and welcomed. It was clean, catered to... More

My wife and I have been visiting Bar Harbor more-or-less annually since 2001. We have always stayed at the Bluenose Inn and have never, ever, been disappointed. We look forward to the clean rooms, excellent service, breathtaking views, great food, and fine music of pianist Bill Trowell who performs nightly in The Great Room of the hotel. Jim Ash, the...
