Waterfront location, we sleep with the door open and listen to the ocean. The restaurant and breakfasts are excellent, and the service top-notch, as is the cleanliness. We normally go in the Fall, so I'm not sure of the summer prices, but for Fall they're not overpriced considering the location. The hotel matches the laid back nature of Maine, providing... More

I travel to Bar Harbor for business off season and this is the most comfortable place to stay in Bar harbor, especially the rooms facing the ocean. Be sure to eat in the bar too, the Lobster Bisque is the BEST I've ever had. Even off season, this place is very warm and friendly.

While visiting Bar Harbor before on a cruise stop, I saw the Bar Harbor Inn and thought it would be a lovely place to stay someday. Well, I finally got my chance and it was perfect. We stayed in the newer Lodge part of the Inn and it was a great choice for exploring the town and Acadia Natl. Park... More

Best location in Bar Harbor. 4th of July it's the place to be. Fireworks right off the pier in front of the Hotel grounds. The fireworks debris falls right on your head! Park here and walk everyplace in the village.

We stayed here for one night as part of a tour of Maine. We originally thought it might be too expensive but found the Lodge part (this is like two hotels in one; the Inn and the Lodge) and the rate was good, including continental breakfast. The room was big enough for us and the beds were comfortable. The only... More

We stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn, Bar Harbor, Maine while visiting Acadia National Park. We absolutely loved this place. Our room with a private balcony had a spectacular view of the water. The complimentary breakfast was very nice, as were the dinners at the main dining room. Only a short drive to Acadia and a short walk to the... More

We have been staying here every summer and plan on coming back every year. We just love it! It feels far enough away from the noise of downtown with a nice historic resort feel. However, it's just steps away from the water and downtown action. The Bar Harbor Inn is just a short drive or bike ride to Acadia Park... More

A girlfriend group stayed at this hotel in September and it was in such a wonderful location right on the water and within walking distance of the shops. The staff seemed friendly enough, but the rooms in the new section are really very plain. The bathroom is standard motel bathroom. The breakfast that came with our room was okay, but... More

Our return trip in November was just as wonderful as our previous one. The front desk was helpful and always ready with a smile and friendly greeting. Every afternoon, we were met with a crackling fire in the main building and warm cookies, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Our room had a private balcony (again: gorgeous views) and a fireplace... My husband and I went to Bar Harbor over Thanksgiving break-we always wanted to see Acadia but never quite got around to do it...We were kind of hesitant to go because it looked as though Bar Harbor was closed for the season, let me tell you this was the best decision ever! The Inn: We checked in at the main... More
