We spent 5 days in Bar Harbor and wanted convenience to the Park for biking and hiking as well as not having to use our car for everything. Honestly the first three days we biked and hiked right from the Hotel and never even got in the car! Just like we wanted. After super busy days full of adventure we... More

Our road trips usually include a week or so of backcountry camping. This trip was somewhat different in that Acadia does not permit off-trail camping but the park does provide two spacious campgrounds and the day hikes are stunning, especially the North Ridge Trail that twists its way to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. After a week in the tight... More

We spent our 25th anniversary here. We have stayed in both the lodge and Newport rooms a number of times during the last 25 years and each stay is always great. We enjoy the breakfast and special thanks go to Lois who has made that a wonderful start to each of our days. Why do we stay here year after... More

We spent 5 days here in the Oceanfront lodge. Amazing views!! Weather was just perfect so we could have the balcony door open and listen to waves all night. Some foot traffic on the shore path but nothing that bothered us. Perfect location, only a short walk to downtown and a short drive to Acadia. Nice continental breakfast and super... More

We spent 4 nights at this conveniently located inn and it was really nice. A little expensive but everything of this quality near the waterfront is somewhat expensive. Have not been to Bar Harbor in many, many years so we wanted to stay somewhere nice and it definitely was nice. Convenient to everything. Waterfront is well worth the $$$.

This review covers room 227 in the original Inn building. Overall, we had a good stay there, but I thought it might be helpful to give specific pluses and minuses of this room. As others have said, the best parts of this Inn are location and views, both of which are first rate. The only caveat is that you are... More

As mentioned in other reviews, this is a large, older property, located right on the harbor and close to downtown Bar Harbor. It is walkable to most of the shops, restaurants and "action" in Bar Harbor. Rooms with good views of Frenchman Bay and the neighboring islands are available - at a higher rate, of course. For the most part,... More

The buildings are pristine. The view is breathtaking. The dress code is relaxed. And the quaint and charming seaside village is literally outside your door. For the quintessential Maine summer experience, check into the Bar Harbor Inn to relax and luxuriate. An attentive, if laid back, staff, a complimentary and copious Continental breakfast, and the choice of an indoor dining... More
