My husband and I camped for 2 nights last week and we were very satisfied. It was just us without the kiddos this time and we opted to tent camp. The campground does not take reservations and it does not accept credit cards so be sure to have cash available or a personal check. There is an atm in the... More

Although we are retired we did appreciate the "family friendly atmosphere" of this very large campground. There are large sites for every type of camping from tents to large RVs. The staff is very friendly and there is an Arcadia bus pick-up at the entrance. Full hook-ups 264/week which is very good for BH. You have to pay by cash... More

Quiet and clean. 5 minute drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor. Nice set up for a fire. We originally wanted a site in the ocean view section. Glad we didn't since it is up by the playground and pool. It was just my honey and I and we wanted things to be slower and quieter. If we had kids with us it... More

What an awesome campground. My wife and I were a little worried when we found out they don't take reservations but there were plenty of tent sites available. We lucked out and got one of the sites with a water view and surrounded by blueberry fields. The bathrooms and showers were always clean and well taken care of. The showers... More

It was late in the day, and though there were just a few sites, the manager found us a site. We planned on only staying two days, but the next morning a beautiful ocean site opened up, and we stayed the 6 nights so we could get our 7th free. They have rules, and stick to them, our neighbors got... More

Unusual policy of no reservations which, if you plan on staying only a couple of days, may leave you with not the best site. However, if you will be staying for awhile, you can relocate as others move on. Great location that we have visited three times over the years.

This is a good enough place to camp but the owners have rules everywhere with an encouragement to, "Please observe all the rules to ensure a pleasant visit." This translates to, "If you do not observe all the rules we will make sure you visit is not pleasant." Expensive (privately owned) but a decent place to camp if you are... More

After much looking, we choose this campground for our Bar Harbor vacation and we were so glad we did. We had a lovely experience. This campground is quite unique in that you actually drive around, pick an open site that suites you best and claim it. We came in on a Sunday morning and got an ocean view site, near... More

We've been to this campground three years in a row and had a great experience each time. The ground are clean and well cared for. The bathrooms are always clean and the showers always have hot water. The people that run the campground are friendly and very helpful. The sites are quiet and fellow campers respect one another. Remember to... More

We traveled from Miami with two young children (3, 5) to enjoy the fall foliage. After much deliberation, we chose to stay here due to its proximity to Acadia and on-site facilities. Since it was the end of the camping season, we had our choice of sites and opted for R1 with a view of the ocean. The site is... More
