We stayed at Hinckley's for 5 days a few weeks ago. The staff - on the phone, check in and housekeeping were all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in cabin 20, As other reviewers had mentioned, the only downfall was the dirty carpet (probably caused by someone using the fireplace and not opening the damper) and the low water... More

We had cabin #18 for five nights. The location was conveniently located only a few minutes from town. Even better, we could leave our car behind and hop the Island Explorer bus for free to any location on the island. My son enjoyed the heated pool. Hinckley's is a great value especially for the area. I would recommend that you... More

We had a wonderful time in Cabin #20! Everything was clean and cozy - the bed was super comfortable and we loved the fireplace - made a fire every night! Location was perfect - less than 10 minutes into Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. My sense is that people with complaints with Hinckleys are expecting something that in the Acadia... More

Great individual cabins! Some are more updated than others, but all are great for an awesome vacation in bar harbor! The cabins are small, but in a quaint New England way. They have everything you might need and then some. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating! I will be back! :)

Elegantly remodeled family cottages or rustic/quaint cabins? I choose rustic/quaint for the price and location and have been going to Hinckley’s for several years! I always look forward to my return to the cabin I can call “mine” for several days! I kept cabin 8 for my first few years: screened porch, large great room that holds bed with closet... More

My husband and I stayed in cabin #20 for 3 nights on a recent trip to Hinckely's cottages. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our dog. The bed was comfortable, and I thought it was a good value for what I paid. There were really only 2 issues. First, the carpet was very dirty (our feet were dirty... More

We recently returned from a last minute family vacation in Bar Harbor and chose Hinckleys because it had two cabins available, which fit our needs. We were very excited for the stay but upon arrival, we realized we had made a serious error in judgement booking there. Cabin 14 was nice at first glance. It was recently renovated and was... More

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Hinckley's and loved it! Our cottage was newly renovated and we looked forward to coming back to our cabin and resting on our very comfortable bed after long days of hiking. The Acadia National Park is just right down the road! Great location. We were greeted by the owner in the main... More

We had a great stay at the cottages. They were simple but fit our group of 4 people and 2 dogs well. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. It was a good deal, as well, based on the location. Be sure to look at what cottage you're getting bc they're all different sizes and some are updated very nicely,... More

My wife booked this place online and the website was glowing. What a joke.Driving from the office to the cabin should have been a dead give away. The roads to and from cabins had DEEP! potholes. All the cabins plumbing is exposed above ground for some 10 feet before disappearing into the ground. We went in the cabin and notice right off... More

The Anderson party arrived at Hinckley’s on June 20th, and they were to depart on June 27th, 2014. The party had booked Cabin 8A for a total of seven nights. The first four were priced at our out-of-season rate ($49 a night), while the last three were our in-season rate ($79 a night) for a total of $467.64. The total... More
