We went to Bar Harbor in high season, when prices are through the roof all over Maine. So we were pleasantly surprised to find this beautiful inn for a lesser price than most hotels. It was just right for our child-free getaway (neither pets nor children are allowed at the inn). The perks were many: 1. It is right in... More

Nice B&B within walking distance to town. Very relaxed, quiet, and no pressure to be on a schedule. The breakfast is sufficient and the cheese and wine is a pleasant feature to have in the afternoon. Restaurants are close. The innkeeper does a nice job keeping guests happy and informed on what to do.

We have returned to the Thornhedge again this year. Host Andrew once again impressed us with delicious breakfasts and helpful hints for the area. The Inn is extremely clean and comfortable. The room we booked, the Devilstone, was just redone in tasteful and soothing decor. Wine and cheese are offered in the afternoon and provide guests the opportunity to share... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Thornhedge Inn. we were taken care of by a superb and friendly staff. The owner Andy, grew up in Bar Harbor and can provide information about ANYTHING in the area. The home and furnishings are exquisite. The breakfast can only be described as "Gourmet". This will be the only place we stay the... More

From the moment we arrived, Andrew made us feel like very special guests! He was gracious and helpful ... and a great cook! The breakfasts were just as pictured on the website. His raspberry ginger muffins were superb! This is a lovely Victorian home with original chic furnishings lovingly preserved and maintained by Andrew and his family. I always look... More

We had a wonderful stay at Thornhedge. Andrew made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. Andrew is very knowledgeable about activities and dining experiences. He helped us set up a scenic cruise and dinner reservations. We really enjoyed his knowledge of the history of Bar Harbor and the island. The Thornhedge... More

The last time we were in Bar Harbor we stayed on the outskirts of town. This time we opted to stay in the town and found a great inn located in the middle of everything! Our host, Andrew, a native to the area, was so helpful with his suggestions of what we should try to see and do. A nice... More

We stayed at the Thornhedge Inn for the first time last October. We liked it so much, we returned last weekend and also brought my son, his wife, my sister and her husband. Everyone loved it. There is a beautiful sitting room where the six of us had some wine and cheese at night after dinner (and after the earlier... More

My husband I recently stayed four nights at the inn and were well pleased. Innkeeper Andrew was very helpful with his suggestions for things to see and places to dine on the island, our room on the third floor was quaint and intimate. On site parking, blocks from all the Main St action perfect. Breakfasts weren't too shabby either. Would... More
