We have just spent two very comfortable & peaceful nights at The Saltair Inn. We stayed in the Acadia Suite & loved it. Old antique furniture and a lovely comfortable bed.The fire places really made the place cosy & warm on the cold nights. The Inn Keepers were very friendly & informative and breakfasts on both days were excellent ...... More

We found the Saltair Inn to be a charming B&B. Matt and Kristi were wonderful hosts; helpful, knowledgeable and conversational. They treated us like old friends. The location is an easy five minute walk to the restaurants and shops of Bar Harbor. The back lawn gently slopes to the waters edge, where at low tide you can walk across the... More

Matt and Kristi, the folks who run this lovely B&B, make you feel right at home from the minute you enter their place. The room is fine with all the comforts of home. We had a room with a fireplace and it was romantic. Their parlor was cozy and the breakfasts both days we stayed there got our engines running... More

We loved the Saltair: our room was clean and comfortable and had a nice bathroom, all remodeled. It IS on the water: if there is an island in the view, it has to have water around it, right? Matt and Christie were very pleasant, the breakfast was good! So we would recommend it.

We stayed at the Saltaire for one night. Two other couples had been there for at least five days. Moreover, they had been staying there each summer for at least seven years. It is easy to understand the attraction. The proprietors make you feel like you are their good friends. The breakfast was delicious. The salt water beach was pleasant.... More

No one was there to greet us when we arrived at just after 3pm - the agreed arrival time. Instead there was a cell phone number. When the owners did arrive, we were made to feel like interlopers. The room (Arcadia Suite) was scruffy with obviously old furniture dumped in there. I have no idea why the bed was so... More

I’m not sure how to respond to this mean spirited, spiteful, and slanderous review of our bed and breakfast, but I will try. Clearly we did something to offend this traveler, and instead of discussing their concern with us, they decided to anonymously vent from the comfort of their home computer. We treat all of our guests with respect and... More

I have stayed in a lot of inns over time, I have always enjoyed my stay, but this one takes the cake. Matt and Kristi were the most wonderful hosts, by offering friendly advice we were able to make the most of our two night stay. They add in little extras that make your stay extra special. The house is... More

We loved every minute of our stay at the Saltair Inn. It has the best location, minutes away from shops and restaurants, and the water views are stunning. We felt relaxed and at home, loved the homemade shortbread and breakfast. Take time to sit down by the water in the adirondack chairs, the stars at night are breathtaking and at... More

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Saltair Inn for four days in September. It was a great find...located on the water overlooking Frenchman's Bay. From the alpine chairs on the wonderful long back lawn, you have a close up view of Bar Island and at low tide you can walk on the sandbar over to... More

We spent 3 nights last week at Saltair Inn----a marvelous experience---the Inn is located on the fringe of the downtown area, away from the hustle/bustle in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, within walking distance of many good restaurants (our favorites---Café This Way and Mache Bistro)----the beautiful home is very well-kept and the rooms are elegant, well-appointed and spotless---the location on Frenchman's...
