The Highbrook Motel is REALLY fantastic! An older place that is NOT a national chain, but locally owned, so that's just one more reason to come here to stay. We were here in early June, just after they opened for the year. I made our reservations using the phone and internet, over the prior winter months, and the owners were... More

This place made us smile! It was a step out of the chain type hotels and the resort mentality. We weren't sure about the motel set up but decided to give it a go. It was easy to find, and the front desk was very helpful. Our room was a bit retro-but that's part of it's charm. It was immaculately... More

We stayed at Highbrook Motel for 2 nights mainly to look at Acadia National Park but this was closed because of the government money problems, which originally forced us to cancel our original reservation because we were not sure if the border crossing would be open. Once we crossed the border we phoned the motel and Adam made sure we... More

This is a family run motel and it shows through the care they take to provide very comfortable accommodation and great service. We stayed in the annex building which is a little further up the hill. The suite was large, clean and very well equipped. Being away from the main road mean we got a good nights sleep with not... More

This CLEAN, quiet, old style motel was perfect for our 3 day visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The family run motel is a real jewel. Our ONLY recommendation is that the towels could be upgraded, but we'd return anyway!!!!!

Bar Harbor was the last stop for us on a 9 day visit through New England, and the Highbrook Motel was the perfect ending to our vacation. It was very comfortable, quaint, clean, and we experienced extremely gracious hospitality. The Motel is very close to downtown and Acadia National Park. It was a perfect ending to our vacation. We will... More

I stayed here for three nights in late september while running the trails in Acadia National Park. The Highbrook is not as fancy or upscale as some of the the other places, and the room I stayed in was a bit dated, but otherwise it was a great place. Clean rooms, and free internet and parking. A free, light breakfast.... More

The Highbrook Motel was our choice because, wherever we live or go, we try to support excellent mom and pop, family-run businesses. Located on a hillside, this place had an old fashion charm with a front open porch and was absolutely immaculate inside and outside. Our room was cozy with very comfortable beds. They offered an excellent complimentary breakfast that... More

This has to be the cleanest place we have ever stayed on vacation. The decorating style is reminiscent of the 70s but doesn't feel outdated. We stayed in a deluxe king in the back building. The room was large and very comfortable- as cozy as being in your own home. Breakfast was adequate more like what we would have at... More
