We had a very enjoyable one night stay at the Hearthside Inn in Bar Harbor, but wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy this beautiful area. Acadia National Park is stunning! Our room at the B & B was very clean, comfortable and quiet even though it was close to the centre of town. It was very well appointed... more

We spent two nights at this lovely B&B for foliage in October and we loved everything about it. Our room was "glass menagerie", which had gorgeous furniture with a private balcony. The house is very clean, the breakfast is great but above all Susan and Barry, the innkeepers, are very lovely. They are very helpful and resourceful. They take pride... more

The Hearthside is in a side street meaning that nights are quiet which is not always the case in a popular location. We stayed for 2 nights and could have easily stayed for more as our room (the Wellington) was well apppointed and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Both Susan and Barry are knowlegeable about the area... more

We recently traveled to Bar Harbor to see Acadia National Park. Walking into the Hearthside Inn you feel like you have arrived to visit friends in the area, the inn is cozy and welcoming. A variety of baked goods, hot cider and hot beverages are available during the afternoon. Breakfast if bountiful. The innkeepers are professionals. Hearthside Inn is located... more

We stayed at Hearthside B&B for 4 nights at the end of September, and we highly recommend it to anyone. Susan and Barry are wonderful hosts who made us feel truly at home. Every little detail was taken care of during our stay at Hearthside B&B--the rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated, the common areas warm and inviting, and the... more

We absolutely loved the Hearthside Inn. Although no secret anymore and quite busy Susan and Barry are absolutely great hosts. We enjoyed the afternoon tea with great cookies and the wonderful atmosphere of the inn and would recommend it to anyone apart from someone on a diet. Rooms are really cosy and equipped with beautiful antiques. The hosts are really... more

Great location, just down the street from the restaurants, shopping and water. Susan and Barry are great hosts. Susan immediately showed us where to rent bikes and where to eat. Barry gave us the details on hiking in the Park (amazing!). The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were fantastic. more

Hearthside was wonderful. This was a larger B&B with about a dozen rooms which made breakfast a bit crowded, but all was efficiently handled by Barry and Susan. We were there three nights and each breakfast was varied and delicious. Hearthside is on a rather small and crowded residential street with an easy walk of the harbor but far enough... more

Except for the size of the bedroom and bathroom! We stayed on the 3rd floor which was ideal for privacy and no noise, but the bathroom was the smallest we have ever seen! And we have stayed in lots of B & B's! I will admit it was still beautifully appointed, but it was teensy. Just room for the shower,... more
