9-06-05 My wife and I stayed at the Cleftstone Manor last week. Although this is not our first stay here, we love the place and wouldn't stay any place else while in Bar Harbor. The atmosphere is great and the breakfasts are out standing. You couldn't ask for better inn keepers. They are warm and friendly and will go out... More

My husband and I spent a week at Cleftstone Manor and loved it. I had chosen this B&B because I had a conference to attend at the College of the Atlantic (COA), which is across the street from Cleftstone. In the registration materials from the COA, Cleftstone Manor was one recommended places to stay. I wasn't necessarily looking for a... More

We stayed here for five nights and we loved it. Our room was large and well decorated with a nice sitting area and the air conditioning worked well. Comfortable public rooms and free internet access added our stay. The best two features were the great breakfasts (a choice between an egg dish and pancakes or waffles prepared differently every day)... More

My husband and I travel a lot both nationally and internationally. We are experienced users of the Web and usually book our own accommodation and travel. Cleftstone Manor is one of the few places that actually exceeded our expectations from the website. Our room was charming without being kitsch and everything was provided to make our stay more like a... More

Your first step into this old elegantly furnished manor, you are greeted warmly by the staff. We were well informed as to our surroundings, and they answered any questions concerning restraurants, shopping, and where to get the best meal for our dollar at one of the local Lobster Pounds! The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and especially liked that EACH room... More

The Cleftstone Manor in Bar Harbor, Maine, was beautiful, and one of the only true historic mansions in Bar Harbor. It was the only home on "Millionaire's Row" not to be destroyed in the fire of 1947. The hospitality was wonderful, and the breakfasts were to die for. Stuffed Fresh Blueberry French Toast--need I say more. We stayed in one... More

We were delighted with our stay at the Cleftsone Manor. We were given a "suite" on the top floor that had a nice large bedroom with small balcony with water view, a sitting room , a landing and a private bathroom, all with a private staircase - once the servants quarters but now a charming, nicely decorated and so very... We decided to visit Bar Harbor for our 10th anniversary vaction trip, and wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast, attracted as we were to the charm that b&bs allegedly have. Having never been to a bed and breakfast before, however, we were not sure what to expect, but we had heard good reviews of Cleftstone. I want to... More

We absolutely loved our stay at the Clefstone Manor! The room was great, the breakfasts were delicious, and the staff helped make our vacation terrific. (Thanks for recommending Poor Boy's for lobster!) Can't wait to go back.

We were attending a conference in Bangor and decided to take a few extra days to see the East Coast. As Bar Harbor is only 45 minutes from the Bangor Airport, we checked out B&B's and decided on Cleftstone Manor. From the inviting front door, gracious hosts and wonderful accomodations in the Joseph Pulitzer Room, we were delighted to have... More
