If you are looking for the b & b experience this is IT! Rooms are unique, quaint, roomy, lovely. Nice breakfast, clean, clean clean place! A bit pricey but not out of line with other places we checked. Owner helps with cooking and also visits with guests. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Cleftstone. I was having some back issues, and Ann quickly found me a board to put under the mattress. The room we had chosen was large and beautifully decorated. But the real bonanza at Clefstone is the breakfast which have been described elsewhere as "sumptuous and scrumptious" and that certainly covers it. We had... More

I usually don't participate in hotel reviews on this site, BUT, I think I need to share my unfortunate experience here. First, when I wrote Anne Bahr, the innkeeper of the Clefstone Manor in Bar Harbor, I told her Id be using gift bedandbreakfast.com gift cards given to my wife and I for our anniversary. She said that would be... More

Do not make reservations at Cleftstone Manor in Bar Harbor if there is any possibility at all that you may have to cancel. Their cancellation policy is outrageous. I made a reservation a week before our planned stay but had to cancel the next day when our travel plans went up in smoke. But the more than $450 deposit they... More

We spent two nights here and absolutely loved it. The breakfasts were sumptuous and scrumptious, the ladies at the desk helpful regarding daytime activities, shopping and dinner places, and the little extras are a bonus. Loved the antique feel of the entire place.

My husband and I have been coming here for about ten years now, and in fact it's the only place we have ever stayed at while visiting Acadia National Park. It was evident from our very first stay that a great deal of care has gone into furnishing and decorating the old Bar Harbor summer "cottage" as it would have... More

My Husband and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon, and were very pleased with everything. We had the John Clark room on the third floor and loved it. It was very private, and we loved having our own little balcony deck area. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and bright. We had no problems with... More

If you are looking for a warm and accommodating host- then I would steer clear of this place. Our stay was average. Our room was ok- but our friend's room was on the back side of the house which faces a busy road. They reported to the owner that there was a bad smell in their bathroom - but this... More

My husband and I booked this room last minute. We checked out the available rooms online. Our room was 1 of 3 available. The room was on the 3rd floor of the Inn. The bed was smaller than we are used to. The room was cute and quaint yet clean. The included breakfast was delicious. In the evening, appetizers are... More

My husband and I spent 5 nights starting August 27 th in the Laura Blair room. If you're a history buff, this is the place for you! The Inn is beautiful, everywhere you look you find another treasure. The rooms are all beautifully furnished with beautiful antiques and wonderful attention to detail. I loved the Joseph Pulitzer dining room table. My husband... More
