My husband and I can't say enough about the Clefstone Manor. The breakfasts are gourmet and delicious. There is also snacks served in the late afternoon and coffee and tea is available throughout the day. The manor has lots of history and is beautifully decorated. The rooms are very comfortable and immaculate. It is located just a short walk into... More

My 2 sisters and I chose Cleftstone for a recent 4 day stay; we chose the Waldron Bates room since it was a mini-suite, with 2 separate sleeping areas for the 3 of us. What a perfect choice it was for our Acadia Park trip. The inn's website photos are accurate--what you see is what you get. The inn is... More

This B&B was one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. The Cleftstone Manor is a short walk to downtown Bar Harbor. It is a lovely old mansion that is meticulously maintained. Each room is named after an influential person from Bar Harbor. We stayed in the Charles How Suite. We loved the summary that was included in the room... More

The Cleftstone Manor is a 17 room B&B a short distance from the center of Bar Harbor, conveniently located on Eden St. (Rte. 3). This late 1800's former summer residence of a wealthy Boston family, is a wonderful place to call home while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The breakfasts are fabulous, different choices every day served by... More

We stayed in Pullitzer suite downstairs. We had our own entrance with a private porch and lounge chairs. Wonderfully soft sheets on a king bed. Very large suite with a sofa a wing chair The innkeeper provided a lovely afternoon snack with wine. Would have loved to stay longer. Within walking distance to town.

My wife and I overnighted at the Cleftstone on our way up to the Maritime Provinces. Anne, the owner, was very nice and helpful and gave us a nice tour of the whole Manor and its amenities. We found our stay very comfortable, interesting and with convenient proximity to downtown Bar Harbor. We would definitely stay there again!

My husband and I spent four fabulous days here. Ann and her staff are wonderful. We had booked the two-room suite on the first floor, but there was a problem with that room before we arrived, so we were upgraded to a fabulous room on the second floor. I'd have to say that was the only negative of our stay,... More

We found the common areas agreeable and arrived just after a shrimp pate had been put out and enjoyed some refreshing lemonade. Anne, the owner, showed us the common rooms and to our room but neglected to show us where breakfast was served which caused a delay in our departure the following morning. We found the room to be much... More

This is a beautiful, charming inn with many, varied, cozy and generous sized rooms. The complimentary 3 course breakfast was wonderful, as were the light appetizers enjoyed in one of the pretty common sitting areas. Very pleasant walk to town and restaurants. We have stayed in many hotels and inns in Bar Harbor, and have now discovered a new favorite... More

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights in the Laura Blair room in June 2013. We came to Maine for a birthday trip and were looking to do some hiking in Acadia National Park. It is located approximately one half mile outside of the main part of Bar Harbor. The pictures on their website are accurate. However, the lovely... More
