My husband and I really liked staying in the Waldron Bates room at Cleftstone Manor. We stayed two nights. It is located on the upper floor (3rd floor) for which you take some steep steps. Not a problem for us and it was such a private area made up of three separate areas. The steps lead to an open landing... More

Ideally located just up the hill from downtown and the crowds, walking distance 10 mins to the town with a bus to the door home later. Parking at the door. Delicious breakfasts and a friendly professional host. Afternoon social hours were a delightful bonus. Lovely room and living areas.

The owner, Anne Bahr, goes out of her way to make you feel at home. The rooms are beautifully furnished and a throwback to another era. evening appetizers in a common room add to the warmth of this beautiful historic B&B.

We stayed 2 nights at the Cleftstone Manor. The evening appetizers and the breakfasts were terrific, both were very generous portions. We found our host very helpful and accommodating. The outdoor pool next door at the Bluenose Inn was available to use, which we did. We had a very nice time and would visit again.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Cleftstone to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. What made it extra special for us was we honeymooned at the Cleftstone 30 years ago. We had such a good time back in 1984, we have been trying ever since to get back to the Cleftstone and Mount Desert Island (MDI). But, as is all... More

We decided to travel to Bar Harbor for our first wedding anniversary, and Cleftstone Manor was the perfect base for our trip. We stayed for 4 nights in a third floor room, which was not too large of a room, but it was definitely a more private and quiet part of the house. The house is beautiful and steeped in... More

We recently stayed at Cleftstone Manor and were very disappointed. The room we had booked did have a private bathroom but nowehere on the website did it mention it was across the hall and not in the room. The location is right on the main road so there is a lot of traffic noise. It is a beautifully kept property... More

Has a nice common area and a good breakfast and they had a nice wine happy hour! You a car would be advisable to get to downtown. The room was very comfortable. We would stay here again when we visit Bar Harbor

This was our first trip to Maine and it was a wonderful week! Cleftstone Manor was our home for the week and innkeeper Anne was wonderful! She served yummy and filling breakfasts in an atmosphere of friendship with other guests. Two entrée choices or the standard cereal, oatmeal, fruit parfait option was always available. We were then set to tour... More

Just back from a 4 day stay at the Cleftstone Manor in Bar Harbor Maine. There is so much to say, but I will try and keep it brief. It is just a perfect Inn! From the moment we checked in till this morning as we left and Ann, the owner was there with a boxed breakfast for us to... More
