We chose the Atlantean Cottage based on Trip Advisor reviews and we are glad we did.The location is perfect. It's on a quiet side street and it's an easy walk to restaurants and shops. In addition to gourmet breakfasts, the hosts are very knowledgeable and accommodating with restaurant suggestions, directions and things to do. Acadia National Park was closed during... More

Hands down, this was the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed in! We were there for four nights in July, in the Baymeath Room. This is a grand, historic home, maintained meticulously. Our bedroom was immense, with a large, comfortable king-sized bed. And the bathroom had been recently redone, complete with a large rain shower. We are both fussy... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a New England drive and were not disappointed. The cottage is beautiful, clean and welcoming. We chose our room (Tallyrand) because it had a sauna in the shower and a real open fire, it looked good in the picture, but oh it was so much better in real life!! What a wonderful, stylish... More

Everyone says this place is great and it is! Gary and Heidi are simply the best kind of hosts. They make you feel so welcome and are ready to share their obvious love for the island they call home. They really 'know' their location and were ready with suggestions - walks, drives, restaurants, best lobster pound - to make the... More

My husband & I and another couple we're staying in Bar Harbor for a couple of days and found this gem. I can't say enough positive things about the accomodations (VERY tastefully done and comfortable), the location (EASY walk into Bar Harbor), food ("Chef" Gary provided unique gormet meals that would make any Foodie's mouth water) and the hospitality (Gary... I can only repeat what others have said about the Atlantean. It is obvious the pride Gary and Heidi take in their renovated historic house, which has been lovingly undertaken over the years since they bought the property. The breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to, and Gary and Heidi made us feel so welcome and were the... More

The Atlantean Cottage is a beautifully restored historic home. We stayed in Wingwood which is the only first floor room. We found the room to be quiet and private. The room was large and tastefully decorated with quality antiques and tasteful modern pieces. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and the private entrance and porch. The bathroom was very large and... More

We stayed two nights at the Atlantean. So often motel/hotel/bed and breakfast rooms are not maintained. Furniture is slightly broken, windows are ajar, etc. But our room in the Atlantean was perfectly maintained - as was the entire building. It's easy to see that the owners take special pride in their property. Heidi and Gary told us they stay open... More

I rarely rate any inn or hotel with all excellents, and am generally a little skeptical of ones that get many 'rave reviews', but the Atlantean is simply outstanding! I can only echo the comments that others have made. Everything about the Inn and the innkeepers is nearly perfect. They seem to have thought of everything, even toothbrush holders in... More

We stayed at the Atlantean Cottage for 2 nights during our vacation to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Gary and Heidi were wonderful hosts and their hospitality really highlighted the wonderful perks to staying at a B&B; From great recommendations for restaurants and activities to having maps and audio guides to loan, they really go the extra step to...
