These cabins are basic, but sufficient if you are going to spend most of the time out of doors. They need updating! The small kitchen is workable for making breakfast on the electric hob and for simple lunches. The cabin we had - number 6 - was at the end of the row and was a bit more private because... More

We appreciate the comments. Receiving comments concerning our cottages helps us to focus on things that might need a bit of tweaking. I wish we could have had the opportunity to have a candid, face to face discussion. That always helps to fully understand our guest’s concerns. The cottages are designed to be rustic, basic lodging which reflects the region... More

I stayed in the cottage called The Captain's Quarters which is a small cottage just right for 1 person. It came with a small fridge and free wi-fi. There's even a parking spot right next to the cottage. It is also pet friendly. The price was very reasonable and it wasn't very far from Acadia National Park. They are also... More

Rose Eden Cottages are small but comfortable. They have decent facilities, and they are just 5 minutes drive from the main entrance to Acadia National Park. The downsides are a roadside location, so the traffic noise can be irritating, and they are a 10 minute drive from Bar Harbor, so eating choices are limited if you don't want to cook... More

Paper thin walls, slate hard beds, thin & hard pillows, dirt ground into pitted bare wood floors without even an area rug, and no one around after nine pm should any disturbances occur - which one did - this is what you may expect.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. We are sorry that your 1 night stay was less than satisfactory. The office telephone is forwarded to our cellphone when the office is closed so we are actually available 24/7. It is too bad that we didnt get the opportunity to help with your issues. Good place to stay for access to the island. Felt no urge to spend time in Bar Harbor, headed off through the park via the visitor's centre most days. Good for access to western part of MDI too. The owners were helpful when needed. Three of us stayed in a one room two bed cottage. Not a huge amount of... More

We were one of two couples that stayed in the #11 two bedroom. It is very clean and has a good layout. Only area for improvement is the bedroom doors. They are bifolding and not the most soundproof. But everything else was wonderful including the grounds which were kept in pristine condition. There was not a hair dryer in the... More

These cottages are so cute and comfortable not to mention very clean. I must admit I was a bit skeptical when my husband suggested we go there but I was presently surprised and definitely want to go back. Also, the owners are so friendly and just can't do enough to make your stay unforgettable! Great lobsters also!

Our camera club stayed here for a four day stay in August. The cabins are super clean and extremely well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. The Cabins are a short 6 miles from bar harbour and Acadia Park. The owners are more than just helpful, they also suggested a feed of Maine Lobster and made all the arrangements and... More

I loved our time (four nights) in our little cottage (number 4). Yes, it’s small but there was still enough room for the three of us and our stuff and our gear. There are a number of trees on the grounds making it shady (unlike other cottages in the area). I liked being away from the noise and crowds of... More

This place is absolutely perfect if you wish to stay away from Bar Harbor crowds during the night. The room was lovely, very clean, and the kitchenette is perfect for cooking a light meal quickly. We also loved the lobster to-go just beside. And most of all, the owners are very nice people. Definitely go to this place!

There is a Lobster take out business on site where you can buy lobsters to cook yourself or a lobster dinner to eat at your cottage or in one of the picnic areas. Locally processed wines and beer can be purchased next door to compliment the lobster dinners.
