We enjoyed two nights in this beautiful old summer mansion. The hosts are friendly and professional and very helpful with suggestions for dinner, etc. The breakfast were delicious! lt rained the two days we were there but the common areas provide plenty of comfortable places to read and relax and the "pantry" always had hot and cold drinks and cookies... Little more I can add to the glowing reviews of this place. It is an elegant, calm heaven in a prime location. The place is immaculate, the owners, Terri & Jeff, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was delicious, with the cinnamon and toffee scones being a big hit.

As a fairly critical person, there is really no room to complain here. The Inn has been lovingly restored saving its original splendor. The owners care about serving their guests and do a fine job. Not only a critical traveler, but a cleanliness freak, we could truly eat off the floor: it was spotless. Hurray to the staff!! The breakfast... More

We came here because of the Trip Advisor rating and we were not disappointed. The Inn is close enough to the village center to do all exploring, shopping, dining within an easy footwalks distance, yet it is remote enough to be quiet and secluded. We liked that each room is styled and equipped differently. The breakfast was inventive, but not... More

We just left the inn after a 4 night stay. Our 4th visit to the Bar Harbor area we booked far ahead, in January, because the combination of luxury accommodations and a water view (essential to us) are few and sell out early. Room 4, The Captain's Suite promised HARBOR VIEWS in boldface on the website. When we were shown... More

We recently returned from a week at the Bass Cottage Inn. The Inn has been restored to provide a historic, peaceful setting with modern amenities. We selected this place because it did not have the lacy victorian, heavy interior like a number of other Bar Harbor accommodations. It was amazingly quiet and intimate, while located just off of Main Street.... More

My wife and I spent a few nights in Room #5 for our honeymoon. Bass Cottage is very charming and made for a comfortable stay. The inn keepers, Teri & Jeff were wonderful and attentive to all our needs. The many staff members were extremely helpful in assisting us to find great places for our lunch and dinner needs. We... We recently visited Bar Harbor and stayed one night in an oceanfront room at the Bar Harbor Inn, and then moved to the Bass Cottage Inn for our second night. While the Bar Harbor Inn was nice, Bass Cottage Inn blew it away! The inn was a charming Victorian offering modern day amenities. The furnishings were gorgeous, and the beds... More

We should have been told in advance that room #6 had two air conditioner condensers on the flat. black, rubber roof right outside the window to our room. This made it impossible to open the window to enjoy the summer breeze, that is, unless you were deaf! They knew about this problem because it had been written up in an... More

The Bass Cottage Inn and staff continue to be fully committed to providing lovely accommodations, attentive service, delicious food and a beautiful environment for our guests. We thanked this guest for his expertise in the HVAC area and have been working to address the issue. Nevertheless, this room is one of our two most popular rooms based on its lovely... More

We had planned to stay at the Bass Cottage Inn for three nights at the end of July, but our first night was pretty horrible, so the inn keeper arranged for us to switch to the Saltaire, which we very much enjoyed. Our problems with the Bass Cottage Inn were that our room (#6) was supposed to have a harbor... More

We'd like to make just a few points to clarify how all of us the Inn strove to work with our very disappointed guests who wrote this review. Room 6 is a very popular and lovely queen room which does indeed have the sink in the bedroom area. As the Inn owners and decorators we intentionally kept the vintage feature... More
