DO NOT BOOK ROOM AT THIS MOTEL. As one reviewer stated, a classic Bait and Switch. They show nice pictures of a motel and rooms on their website but if you book thru any of the online websites, you get sent to a smelly, outdated dorm-room above the Cafe. It is outdated, the carpet is worn and old, the bedspread... More

Called ahead to have a room held. Didn't like the ones we were seeing, desk clerk, Susan (who seemed tipsy or perhaps just ditzy) assured us we were staying in a room at the "INN" Kitty corner" from where she was standing. "A pretty bldg." We were told it included breakfast. Assured the room is "Nothing like this bldg. The... More

In response to your review, I am sorry you were unhappy with the Aurora Inn but a bit confused about the review you have posted and that you and your husband felt it necessary to write two separate reviews for lodging that you chose not to occupy and that you were not charged for. The room you were checked in... More

This motel was built in the 50s, but is well maintained. Room was large with a microwave & refrigerator. Bathroom was very small & hot water took forever to come in! Wi Fi was very intermittent and slow. I thought it a bit pricey for the value received.

I stay in Bar Harbor every summer for a couple of nights. This was my first poor experience with lodging. We stayed in the big building above where breakfast is served, maybe called the Cafe? It was about the quality of a college dorm room. It was a dump, but the rate was very high. I'll never stay here again.... More

I'm sure this hotel is great, like the other reviews stated, which is why i wanted to book it to begin with. I booked 4 rooms for myself and other family members through Hotels.com. I received confirmations for each of the rooms and I thought all was well. Then I received a phone call from the hotel stating that they... More

We had a 20% discount internet offer which didn't show on the reservation so a big hassle to get the paperwork straight, no breakfast included, room had a huge hump in the floor from a terrible "remodel", the threshhold was rotten, black cable stapled across the middle of the wall to the TV, and everything is old, faded, worn out.... Stayed at Aurora Inn in September 2014. Rooms were in the cafe building and extremely noisy. There seemed to be a lot of people coming in and out at all times and the main door swings shut and bangs every time someone goes in and out. Cafe building was away from the main hotel reception area and somewhat inconvenient. The... More

My wife and I stayed at this motel in late August, 2014. We were put in one of their Cafe rooms, over the dining room used by this motel and a Quality Inn across the street. The price was quite high (over $150 per night) and not up to what was advertised. The room had two queen size beds, a... More

Rooms are simple, neat and clean; prices are more reasonable than most. The motel is older (more worn looking) than some, but the owner/operator is gracious, friendly, and accommodating; he has another nearby motel on Mt. Desert St. where we stayed once, but we prefer the Holland Ave. location. It is but a short, brisk walk to either Main or... More

We stayed in the Inn with a queen bed. The outside of the building is dingy and old but once you step in to room it was very clean and well kept I was impressed. Breakfast was nice. It was within walking distance of downtown. We loved our stay in Bar Harbor!
