This place is a Dive!, we recieved an un-enthused, un welcoming greeting. When we eventually found our room with the little directions and help the owners offered I was shocked to find we were on the first floor above a Cafe in a Dark, dingey, dated room. I had a very uncomfortable nights sleep and didnt relax the whole night!!!... More

I paid $165 to view a room at this ghastly place. The pictures on their website are in no way representative of the room I was shown. I was unable to enter the room the smell was so bad, and the desk clerk was rude and refused to refund me. I would rather sleep in a homeless shelter than here.

I booked online for three of us to stay at Aurora Inn. I hugely regret not having asked to see the room before "signing" in. Once we saw the room, but in particular faced the smell that caused me to back out of the room, we knew we would not be able to stay there. I am not generally a... More

DO NOT BOOK ROOM AT THIS MOTEL. As one reviewer stated, a classic Bait and Switch. They show nice pictures of a motel and rooms on their website but if you book thru any of the online websites, you get sent to a smelly, outdated dorm-room above the Cafe. It is outdated, the carpet is worn and old, the bedspread... More

Called ahead to have a room held. Didn't like the ones we were seeing, desk clerk, Susan (who seemed tipsy or perhaps just ditzy) assured us we were staying in a room at the "INN" Kitty corner" from where she was standing. "A pretty bldg." We were told it included breakfast. Assured the room is "Nothing like this bldg. The... More

In response to your review, I am sorry you were unhappy with the Aurora Inn but a bit confused about the review you have posted and that you and your husband felt it necessary to write two separate reviews for lodging that you chose not to occupy and that you were not charged for. The room you were checked in... More

This motel was built in the 50s, but is well maintained. Room was large with a microwave & refrigerator. Bathroom was very small & hot water took forever to come in! Wi Fi was very intermittent and slow. I thought it a bit pricey for the value received.

I stay in Bar Harbor every summer for a couple of nights. This was my first poor experience with lodging. We stayed in the big building above where breakfast is served, maybe called the Cafe? It was about the quality of a college dorm room. It was a dump, but the rate was very high. I'll never stay here again.... More

I'm sure this hotel is great, like the other reviews stated, which is why i wanted to book it to begin with. I booked 4 rooms for myself and other family members through Hotels.com. I received confirmations for each of the rooms and I thought all was well. Then I received a phone call from the hotel stating that they... More

We had a 20% discount internet offer which didn't show on the reservation so a big hassle to get the paperwork straight, no breakfast included, room had a huge hump in the floor from a terrible "remodel", the threshhold was rotten, black cable stapled across the middle of the wall to the TV, and everything is old, faded, worn out.... Stayed at Aurora Inn in September 2014. Rooms were in the cafe building and extremely noisy. There seemed to be a lot of people coming in and out at all times and the main door swings shut and bangs every time someone goes in and out. Cafe building was away from the main hotel reception area and somewhat inconvenient. The... More
