I had breakfast here this morning with my son and his girlfriend, and I can't stop thinking about it tonight. We were treated so kindly, even without a reservation (which we might have thought of, even in the winter because of the reputation for great food). You'll be tempted to get one of every single thing on the menu (which... More

My husband took me to Bar Harbor the weekend of Valentines day, and the next day was my birthday. He researched and found this place online. When we arrived we were greeted by Ralph who was very pleasant and informative. He brought us up to our third floor room, number 5. He chose it because it had periwinkle walls and... More

Nice old house, feels lived in, warm and comfortable. Ralph and Anna are naturals at hospitality; both in making you feel welcome and particularly with Ralph's amazing baking. The blueberry scones, the chocolate cookies in the afternoon, the breakfast entrees were all the best food we had in any B&B this trip! On the downside, light from the hallway(safety needs?)... More

Excellent location, close to town. Delicious food, especially the breakfasts (egg dishes, like the veggie omelette were delicious.) The baked goods were consistently perfect (scones, muffins, & cookies for tea time) They even garnish the dishes with seasonal touches - violas or conifer sprigs! They were so attentive to details (in all ways) when serving meals. Helpful, kind, & professional... More

Went here with my fiance in late October for four nights, and we felt like we lucked out by choosing to stay in the Acacia House. If we return to Acadia, I will not even attempt to find an alternative B&B, and I'd recommend it to almost anyone. The best aspects, in no particular order: (1) The location - The... More

Well located warm and welcoming B & B. Our host Ralph was extremely hospitable and helpful. Eager to answer all our questions and seek out info he was unable to provide. Delectable treats in the afternoon and early morning scones or rolls along with coffee and tea made it very pleasant for early risers. And that was in addition to... More

Our only other experience of an inn was in New York State and it was rather dark and cluttered. Ralph and Anna's inn is light and bright. After an extremely long day of driving we arrived to the aroma of freshly cooked cookies and lovely calming music and it only got better from there. The bed and pillows were so... More

We loved saying at Acacia House. We were warmly greeted by one of the innkeepers. We had a long drive and I was eager to get our key but we engaged in friendly conversation which was actually nice and welcoming. Our room, #6 was great for us. There was a card placed in the room to be aware of other... More

If you're looking for a place to stay in Bar Harbor, I would highly recommend Acacia House. It's on a quiet street away from the crowds but is a short walking distance to anything and everything in town. We were able to leave our car in their small parking lot and walk everywhere (unless going to Acadia National Park). We... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, and were so glad we found Acacia House. It is a very short walk to restaurants, shops and the Harbor area, but nicely tucked away in a quiet street. Our room was on the top floor in the "attic" and was spotlessly clean with a big, comfy bed (beautiful linens). We slept really well... More
