If you are looking for a trip with lots of tours this is not for you. If you are looking to get away and relax this place is great. The staff is very nice. If you have a problem just ask them to fix it. The resturant is pretty good. You can tell this is not the newest resort but... more

In one word, "FABULOUS!" My fiance and I spent the weekend at the Makaha Resort and had an absolutely wonderful time. We are local people who live in Honolulu and were looking for a quiet, relaxing and affordable retreat. Because we rarely explore this part of the island, we decided to spend the weekend doing just that. First, the Makaha... more

Magnificant views of mountains and ocean - great amenities but what a disappointment. Pool is freezing. Rooms are old, not clean, meaning we needed to put towels on the furniture, they haven't been replaced in 15 years, I'd say. Still, many would say, it's passable because the amenities are great, pool is cold but if the sun is shining, then... more

We stayed at the Makaha golf resort on Oahu in November 07 and it was magnificent. The resort is on the older side but is well maintained and they appear to be doing some upgrades. We didn't golf but the grounds looked beautiful and they were very busy. This is a very peaceful resort, with great views, a nice pool,... more

Well, we just got back from a week stay at the resort and have realized that we should listen to others (all the time). This place was prefect. Clean rooms, very nice resort properties, the food was outstanding and the staff very excellent to deal with right from the manager - Randy Lehr to the grounds keepers. The buildings are... more

We stayed at Makaha Resort for 12 days over Christmas. At first we were apprehensive about the Waianae area. It is definitely the poorest area on the island and the tent cities of the homeless a little disconcerting. However during our long stay and after travels to other areas on Oahu we came to appreciate the leeward coast, the people... more

We were so pleased with our visit to Makaha Resort (formerly Sheraton Makaha) in Dec. 2007. We have been coming to Hawaii for almost 40 years, then staying at those early resorts: Mauna Kea Beach Resort, Royal Lahaina, Maui and Kauai Surf... but nowadays we always stay at Hyatt Regency Maui or Waikiki, so we do know the difference. I... more

We were nervous about choosing a place that was a little far away from waikiki but were pleasantly surprised at how close and easy the drive was to the airport and how beautiful and lovely the grounds were of the hotel. the rooms are very private and you feel like you are in your own cottage, simple but cute and... more

We simply loved staying at the Makaha Resort Golf Club. We had a 30 day vacation and stayed 1 week at the touristy Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and just didn't like it. As my husband is somewhat of a local, we chose to move out of Waikiki and into the local area. When we arrived, they treated us extremely well. I... more
