Reading some of the bad reviews left by others, my initial thought is that they just don't realize they're um, in Hawaii ("lizards" aka geckos in the hot tub - come on, you want geckos around as they eat the bugs!) and the griping of not having fresh towels (stated for energy reasons; there were tons of fresh towels in... more

My mother and I stayed at Hawaii's Hidden Hideaway (HHH) in June 2009. The drive to get to the B&B from the airport is very scenic. HHH is located in Lanikai, which is, in my opinion, the most beautiful area of Oahu. When I chose the HHH, I did so based on the knowledge that even if the B&B was... more

The reason why there are so extremely different reviews of this B&B is that it offers two different units. We, two adults and two kids, spent a week in Feb 2009 at the Hideaway, not in the big studio but in one of two smaller units. Those units are definitely not award-winning, they offer no ocean view, and you hear... more

Shockingly bad place. There is no breakfast and our room was damp and horrid. Absolutely no service. Stay away. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. They make you pay in advance so you can't just leave, which would have been the logical thing to do when treated like this. more

My husband and I stayed at HHH for our honeymoon in 2005. Our first surprise was that the owner was not there to greet us in person. A trail of typed notes led us to our room. Next we discovered that the room had no AC. There was no mention of this on the website! Having lived at the beach... more

I booked a room at this hotel as I was sitting at the Hilo airport about the board my flight to Oahu. It was a bit more expensive than some of the other B&B's in the area and also included a cleaning fee, but it was all I could find available at the last minute. All in all, it was... more

My husband and I stayed at Hawaii's Hidden Hideaway in July 2007 and were extremely disappointed. There was zero hospitality- we never encountered the hostess. There was zero room service- our bed was never made (sheets uncomfortable fabric, and old) and towels were never freshened. The "amenities"- shampoo, soap, etc, were shamelessly taken from other hotels. As in, they said... more

Like others, I read the reviews before booking this place. I thought that I'd give it a try since the reviews were so extreme. I'm on the side of those who call it "bed and bagel" or "disappointed." First, the owner's directions were in error, so I had a hard time finding it. When I got there, I was surprised... more

My wife and I stayed at this B&B in February 2006. Here are some highlights from our stay: 1. The "breakfast" part of B&B included half of a cinnamon roll (could tell it was cut in half), a bagel, some slices of bread from different loaves. They went bad the second day. 2. In the refrigerator was a quarter stick... more

We had a last minute trip to Hawaii and we were so happy when we found Hawaii’s Hidden Hideaway on line and they had an opening. It surpassed our expectations and we had such a great time there. The units are very private and accommodations were so comfortable, we really felt at home. There were more than enough goodies to... more
