We stayed in room 1179 and had a great Molokai experience. The wind was howling even by local standards (40kt) so we couldn't really get in the water but had a great time sight seeing and Bowhunting Axis deer with Kimo and Nelson from Kailoa Hunting. The room was nice. It had a full kitchen and a front sitting area... More

Don't book here if you are looking for service, staff, or amenities. That being said, I would still recommend staying here if you are a self sufficient and low maintenance traveler. Our villa was closest to the beach and was a bit dated but clean and comfortable without A/C as the ever present ocean breeze cooled the room. The pool... More

We are renting from an owner on vrbo. That is likely the way to go. The owners care about, decorate and stock their individual units. There are some negative reviews i do agree with and disagree with some points. Yes, it is 30 mins from main town. But, it is onky a short 5 min drive to Mauna Loa grocery... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in September 2012, it was the third island on our Hawaiin island travelling experience. We'd done our research and looked forward to relaxing on the least developed island in Hawaii. So all we needed was a decent place to stay and we ended up at Castle Kaluakoi Villas costing us $130... I'm not high-maintenance; I don't care about the 30 minute drive to town; I don't even care whether or not the logos declaring this island to be "the friendly isle" are false. I DO care about if there are turds in the drawers where my clothes will go and in the cupboards where dishes and food is kept. I do... More

Took the Island Air propellor plane and went to Molokai for a few days. Picked up a car from Alamo and drove 20 minutes west to the Castle Kaluakoi Condominiums. Those reviewers that say it's a 30 minute drive must drive awfully slow. Check-in was 3:00 pm . We arrived at 3:10 pm as we didn't want to get there... More

From the 6-seater aircraft Molokai is a small, varied terrain, from lush valleys to volcanic plains.Leave for the Castle after getting supplies at the Friendly Market as it is @40 miles each way.Store hours are short.Alamo will help you get there with your rental car.Castle is a nice change of pace. You stay in a condo furnished by its owners,my unit was... My husband and I stayed on Molokai for three nights. We planned on camping two nights but wanted to stay in a hotel/villa (aka place with an indoor shower!) on the third night. I had done a lot of research on this property and found there were not many current reviews, which made me somewhat ambivilent. What I did find... More

This is our third stay with Castle and they are always consistent. The properties are from the late 70's to early 80's and are "owned" units. The decor varies by owner choosing, as do the kitchen items, etc. This unit was ground level and opened directly onto what used to be the golf course and then a very short walk... More

i really enjoyed my stay at the villas. The place was a little run down and the rooms were not all that clean but if I had a problem it was dealt with promptly. I loved the open concept to the rooms so the breeze could blow right through to keep things cool. The people at the front desk were... More
