This place is a dump. My wife & I stayed in one of the private rooms for $100 per night. The toilet was facing the bed eight feet away w/ no bathroom door! There was no a/c, no cable T.V., & no hot water in the shower. After complaining to the person who checked us in, I was told that... More

Loved the owners. I had a rough start to my trip. The owners bent over backwards to turn my trip around. I have knee problems and my request of a lower level room was granted. Rooms were small but clean. Loved the roosters, chickens and geckos. I would recommend this hostel to everyone. Great way to meet people from all... More

I stayed at this place for 3 nights, making the reservation through booking.com mainly because of the rate being low. Including the tax, it was $83 per night. When I made my reservation, I didn't realize how bad this place is. At CI, there were some difficulty. The office guy, who seemed very nice, gave me a key to a... More

Came as a couple, had a special deal via booking.com and checkin was a huge mess (took 1.5 hrs and two room changes). The rooms are dirty and very small with no space to put your things, the toilets are basically in the bedroom, separated only by a see-thru curtain. The beds are very, very (VERY) soft and during the... More

Okay so we all know that if you're staying at a hostel you're not looking for something fancy, you're wanting to save a little money. We tried to keep an open mind about Hostel City, despite its low rating on TA. It was supposed to be a cheap, easy place to stay for our first night in Maui since we... More

At only $30 cheaper than low-end hotels in the same area, this place is not worth it. It's cramped, the beds are awful, and it is NOISY! You can hear everything people next door are saying. Also, our toilet was clogged up when we got there and they made us un-clog it. Until this place starts charging hostel rates, stay... More

I wouldn't even rate this hostel one star... First of all, the bathrooms were awful. Plumbing doesn't work, no hot water...lost of bugs too. Ants all over the bed, Mosquitos..I woke up with a lot of bites on my legs. To end this review, the room next to us had a couple fighting all night, violence was involved. Policed showed... More

I came to stay for a week or two in November and never left....the staff and owners have been very pleasant and helpful... The bed is comfortable... And hostel has a pay laundromat that is very convenient... They have snacks and soft drinks available for a reasonable price as well... I would recommend anyone to stay here... No reason to... More

My boyfriend and I stayed one night. We had stayed two other nights on the island, camping. We needed showers before our departing flights. As we have found often in Maui, there was no other place to stay for under $300, this place came available 3 days prior to our stay. Parking is free but very limited. The front, oh... More

Who are you? God? For you to say that we are a struggling family is slander and tacky! You know nothing about me or my family! My son broke all rules by allowing you the use of our office computers and this is your response?! We rent this building and can only do so much and the rest is in... More

Sometimes you see people reviewing a hostel as if they expect it to be a high end hotel. This is not one of those reviews. I've stayed in hostels on almost every continent. I've seen good and bad. This hostel takes the spot for worst hostel I've stayed at. The staff was practically absent. The breakfast was disappointing, hard pressed... More
