It's located in Wailuku, which doesn't have any hotels and is relatively quiet, though near the Iao Needle State Park and has some decent restaurants in the area. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is clean. They will pick you up at the airport for free. more

I was in Maui for six nights and I have to say that Northshore hostel is one of the best run hostels I have ever stayed. Starting with the negatives though, this is not the best location and you will have to venture out via a rental car or bus for night life, etc. There just isn't that much around... more

My husband and I, both senior citizens, enjoyed our stay in a private room at Northshore Hostel. We spent a week touring Maui and found Northshore to be centrally located for access to every area by car. The staff, Garrett and Giovanni, were very helpful and the entire facility was clean and well-managed. I would definitely recommend it for a... more

I had an opportunity to try two hostels in Maui and this one I found to be the most pleasant to stay in. I stayed only in the male dorms. Rooms - The rooms were spacious and clean, but the beds were not as comfortable as I would have liked. The beds and pillows were covered in plastic for hygiene... more

I was just there for one night, but I really liked this hostel. Giovanni at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. The whole place was kept superclean, and the dormroom I was in was really spacious (just one other girl in a 6 bed dorm) with comfy beds. Amazing feature with free local and international calls!! Not really... more

I stayed at this hostel last month while traveling around the world and I loved it. I thought it was a great hostel, it had nice staff, dorms were fine and had A/C, the other guests were cool - just lucky I guess, I felt safe and the place was clean, they had a kitchen and I was able to... more

My husband and I were traveling with friends who often stay at hostels. It was the 1st time for myself and my husband. We were quite pleasantly surprised. We found Northshore Maui Hostel to be clean and well run. The TV automatically shuts off at 10:00PM and quiet time begins. Good for people who want to be able to turn... more

I stayed at Patey's, Banana, Rainbow's End, and Northshore during my trip. The Northshore was one of my favorites but it depends on what you are looking for. It was the cleanist, open, quiet and friendly staffed hostel. If you are looking for a place to party this is not it. There is more of a mature feel and shared... more

Myself and a group of my friends stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and it was terrible. We went to Maui for the summer and stayed here while looking for jobs and accomodation. Our door didnt lock, whe we came back after the first day our room was wide open, people had obviously been in and out but luckily... more

We arrivaed at the hostel after spending several days on the Big Island first in Hilo Bay Hostel and then in Patey's Place in Kona. As both places far exceeded my expectations, i hoped that this one would be also acceptable. But it was really disappointing. The people there were strange, when entering the building i thought it could collapse... more
