I ended up here pretty much by fluke, but was pretty happy with it. The employees do a really good job of keeping things going and seem to like their gigs. The kitchen is quite functional, the laundry facilities are sufficient, the bathrooms are really well maintained and the dorm I was in was very quiet. There weren't lockers in... More

I stayed here two nights during my days in Maui. Overall very good!! Wifi is free, shuttle bus is free!! And even the pancake breakfast is free! Friendly staff and clean but kind of old school rooms. It's not a party hostel. Just a really pleasant stay!

After 3 nights at an moderate hostel we were very lucky about this hostel. Clean rooms, clean kitchen and clean bathrooms. You had to wait sometimes because the few showers were occupied but while waiting in the comfortable lobby you could talk with the other travellers. The staff was very helpful and funny. The breakfast was alright. And we loved... More

I am currently staying at this hostel during my short stay in maui. Our taxi driver originally told us we were miles away and in a rough part of town, however this was far from the truth. Upon walking into the hostel, we were assisted with our bags, welcomed and given a tour of the building. Four very clean communal... More

I stayed here for three nights in a private room. The hostess, Jeanine was really nice and helpful. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom floors were a bit wet, but that was due to other guests. Location was close to restaurants but far away from beaches. Location was central to the island which was nice.

This is really one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. My wife,, brother and I stayed in room 16. This is a very clean and quiet hostel. We basically only slept here and didn't really use it for much else. I like how they have quiet time as at other hostels if your an early sleeper like I... More

I have been a "hosteler" , on and off, for almost 40 years. The Northshore is definitely one of the better ones. Scott and Jeannine were friendly, helpful and made sure that guests got a quiet night's sleep (if they wished it) without being heavy-handed ! This is sometimes a difficult task in the hostelling world ! The free shuttle... More

This was my first time in a hostel, and I'm definitely glad I chose this one! I only needed a night's stay but everything was spot on. Jinine was amazing; even when I forgot to call and reserve for my airport pick up, she still came to pick me up!! Many thanks! She is very friendly and knowledgeable about the... More

if you're looking for a budget friendly hostel - this is it; the beds are comfy, bathrooms are rarely occupied, and the common area always has someone to share stories with. the hostel attracts the sociable adventurous travelers, so it's pretty easy to find someone to explore maui with. the staff was always friendly and helpful and hopefully you'll get... I was in Maui for a week and the first part of the week I split a condo with some friends in Lahaina. After they left I thought it would be easy to find an affordable hotel room, oh boy was I ever so wrong. After two nights in an completely overpriced room in Kiehi I moved to this hostel... More
